ok i dont know about any of you master commandos but i would rather see commandos get cert for a rifle and have a rifle tier than the launcher pistol. i mean its cool and all but just think about it... pistols will never do the damage equal to a rifle(we r talking about base stats here not krayt or gorax or anything). so wouldnt it make sense to have the prof(commando) who is supposed to be the big time damage causer to have a rifle instead of a pistol? and besides they have no pistol mods... and it would be wicked cool to have somewhere to dabble me being a rifleman and all. well this is just a thought dont know if this has been brought up at all in this forum cuz havnt been here much but i would think it be better. besides carbineers can dabble in bh and pistoleer can dabble in bh and smuggler. what do rifleman get? well flame me all you like i dont mind its just my opinion. ty and have a good day
There has been much talk in the past of Commandos having an "assult rifle"...It's even gone as far as to push for either getting the Beam Rifle Cert, converting the Launcher Pistol into a Launcher Rifle, or converting the Heavy Acid Rifle into an actual Rifle like weapon...Beyond that the Acid tree has been suggested for some type of rifle line...
My personal opinion is that Commando should build on all of it's pre-reqs...We have a Pistol Pre-Req so we should have a Heavy Pistol (the LP)...We have a Rifle Pre-Req so we should have a Heavy Rifle (HAR post conversionor Beam Rifle)...We have a Carbine Pre-Req so we should have a Heavy Carbine (Underslung Carbine maybe)...And we have an Unarmed Pre-Req so some type of Heavy Knuckler weapon or CommandoBladed Weaponhink of an advanced version of the Survival Knife)...We would need the certs, but also specials to go with them to make these weapons have a "Commando" like flavor.
Building on our Pre-Reqs just makes sense to me...It would benefit us as well as benefit other professions with similar pre-reqs...We would have the value of being able to dabble many combat professions and improve at least one of our given weapon abilities. And other professions would be able to "super-charge" themselves by combining with Commandos, as in, a Master Pistoleer could combine with Commando to get a Heavy Pistol (the LP) and become a Commando Pistoleer...It's like going from being in the Navy and then being a Navy Seal...
So anyway...what I am trying to say is YES, we need a Rifle, but I don't think we should even consider sacrificing our Pistol...instead I think we should add to what we have and BUILD on it all...We should be the WEAPON SPECIALISTS that we are suppose to be who dish out the HEAVIEST DAMAGE...
At the moment, we hit people pretty hard, its just we are so inaccurate at times, and hit so slowly that it does not matter much really. I hit normally in pvp people for 500 dmg when fully armored, and 1.5k dmg if they are a melee stacker, and jedi for 2.5k-3k. And that is when they aren't kded. Get them knocked down, and you can one hit kill most people.
I've hinted this in other posts, so I'll re-mention it here...Don't worry about AP post CU...Commandos won't be complaining anymore about not having enough AP after the CU hits...

Well it could meana fewthings...either Commandos are getting some serious AP boosts to their weapons...or maybe everyone else are getting reductions...or maybe the whole AP system is being altered in away that Commandos come out better...the key is that I've told you that AP won't be one of our top issues post
