Haha, made you look.
I thought I'd lighten the mood a little and submit a draft of a new commando weapon I think we should get at Master Commando. No this weapon wont be in the CU. Its too cool-looking for SWG. Instead we have harpoon rifles, and H&K clones.
But tell me what you think of the design! Aesthetics, functionality, ect.

The way I see it, there would be 3 specials for this weapon alone; Fire Grenade, Disintegration Shot, and Semi-Auto fire.
Fire Grenade would be simple, just launch a grenade at the same ranges and cost of a normal grenade. (Just new animations and it would use specific Golan Arms Grenades)
Disintegration Shot would be like our old "Flame Single 2" except it would add even more signifigant damage bonuses and lower all inherent resistances almost ensuring a hit.
Semi-Auto fire would spray small bursts of disruptor shot in a horizontal line in front of the weilder. Similar to Strafeshot from Rifleman.
The average weapon damage stats would be about 400-975 without tissues, powerups, or high-grade materials. The standard damage would beenergy with stacked acid elemental damage on top of that.
Enjoy fellow commandos.

I'd hit it. Nice work. I was just complaining about the HK ripoffs and otherwise weak weapon designs for most of the new stuff. The commando weapons, in particular, look absolutely unusable due to the whole upper part/barrel being offset. Would make it terribly unbalanced.

Very cool indeed, although I like the new commando weapon styles, makes them look like a large shoulder mounted cannon, and the "exhaust" from it being fired would vent over the toon's shoulder, rather than into his chest (OUCH!)

I'll have to say that looks sweet. But I do have a preference for the the Proton Carbine, to me that just screams Commando. But I think we haven't seen everything just yet, and we are still in the beginning stages of the Beta.
So I would give until the last week in April before we start pushing for anything special.

Lets see.
We got:
A Rifle, a pistol and a knuckler. Not counting heavies.
So to make us a "master of armed combat", we need a carbine to complete us. I think the Proton Carbine will fit us well on those regards.
Besides, it will look good with a stormtrooper armor as oposed to the Massasi Ink rifle...

I would call the HAR a rifle yes.
Just like they call the T-21 a rifle

HAR is more of a heavy weapon atm than a rifle, though after the CU it might be more a rifle.

I have a very strong feeling that we'll be getting the Proton as a hidden cert--the carbineer correspondant practically flat out said we got it.
I sure hope so, it'll bring our DPS up even higher AND look sweet in the process.

I would've hoped a weapon design likemy Golan Heavy Particle Cannon would've replaced the Acid Rifle. Since the Beam Rifle (Rifleman Only) looks exactly like the current HAR , my design would've spiced it up a bit and added a little more variance. That, and its my design so I'm biased.
But are they seriously going to lave two completely different guns attatched to the same model? Thats not very bright.

I so hope you are right mate.... so hope you are right... that is by far the one weapon I must have with any commando build I have just for the style alone.
