Is that confirmed? 'Cause the proton carbine is just.... awesome. It's like the ideal assault rifle for commando, it looks the part, and has good dmg(+cold elemental dmg). Not to mention it would fit nicely with Commando/TKM/Carbines

The Carbineer corr has hinted towards us getting it in several posts, but I don't think there's any guarantee.
It's also been said that we get the Masassi Ink Rifle... but... that's just plain ugly.
All we know for sure is that we *do* have at least one master cert.

It is official, the Devs stated that we will get certed for the cdef pistol. I repeat, we are getting certed for the cdef pistol. it is unclear atm if we will also get certed for the cdef rifle and carbine. There is widespread rumor that we will, but just because it is like that on live and TC does not mean it is guaranteed.

I've also heard that the massassi is certed to Commandos, and the proton is certed to the Commandos, and some people still think the blasterfistis acommando weapon. I wish they would release the profession docs like they said they would or at least give us some clarification as to who gets what.
But if the BHs get the Proton carbine, and we get this friggen... rock with a handle and a blade sticking through it, I'm going to be VERY UNHAPPY.
Since when was the masassi rifle "commandoesque" anyway? I mean, the proton isn't bounty hunteresque, since when did they run around with assault rifles shooting down their prey? That's our job!

Yup, still agreeing with you on the masassi rifle bit.... and even think that the masassi knucks and blaster fist should be switched out as well.
Proton Grenades, Proton Carbine, Proton Rifle... sounds like a good match to me for a master box with the most flexibility as far as templates go.
I do like the stats of the massassi rifle, but stats are not everything in a MMORPG. It doesn't fit my idea of the role of a commando, it looks more like something a rifleman/ranger more than a commando. Then again if any of these weapons sound like the new blaster sounds I will probably end up as a crafter/pilot....

i REALLY hope we get the proton carbine over the massassi rifle, but since we've got the massassi knucklers, could this be an indicator of the massassi rifle being given to us?

Why don't they just cert the proton carbine for both BHs and Commandos, sorta like they did with the firespray for all the pilot professions...
