Thread: Rumor Mill: Could this be the real reason why the Docs haven't been released?
- There is absolutely no change in the business relationship between LucasArts and SOE, and there is no anticipated change after the launch of JTL.
- There is absolutely no change in the business relationship between LucasArts and SOE, and there is no anticipated change our relationship in the near future
- The rumors of the impending split of LA and SOE are completely false.
The one-liner approach bothers me, as it reads exactly like an update given by the devs in patch notes and such. Whoever is in the PR and communications department at SOE needs to be shot.

I am not saying I believe it. Hell, I dont believe ANYTHING said outside the game by the powers that be until I actually see it.
But look at it objectively...

What this says is: At this time, there is no change in effect between the business relationship of LA and SOE.
That doesn't mean that about 10 days from now, a change WILL be in effect. Like I said...An announced split would cause both companies stock to drop earlier than they want (because they know it will). Its not so much that they are worried about players leaving the game because of the split.
Any statement made by the yahoo's in charge of this game should be taken with a grain of salt, given their past history of misleading the players. These guys and gals do nothing but send cryptic messages everytime they post something. Its rare that when a change in the game happens, that it is as thoroughly explained as it should be. All too often this leaves too much guesswork, and leads to alot of easily avoidable flame/rant posts if they would take the extra five minutes to explain fully what the change is, and what it will or is expected to affect.
As I stated earlier, there is ALOT this statement doesn't say....

Yea, and as my grandpappy used to say "silence is louder than words"...or something along those lines.
Still, this is just a rumor...and rumors and assumptions can often start when there isn't a whole lot of communication going on...which leads to what other people are saying: We wouldn't have alot of this if SOE would just tell us what's going on!

I'm pretty sure the pre-jtl post is a joke...read down to Commandos putting Grenades in people's pockets...I thought that was quite creative...
There are some other various rumors floating around about new ground weapons being introduced with JTL's release...So far anyone on Beta knows these rumors are false...Typically the Devs will test new weapons on the Test Severs before they go live and since we haven't seen them in beta, let alone any ground combat changes, I doubt these are anything more then just rumors...I would find it hard to believe the Devs would introduce any new game elements to the live servers without testing them first (JTL's release, after all, is only 8 days away)...
