Thread: Flame DOT stacking
Thought our correspondent might want to know that we can stack flame damage over time. At least that is what I noticed. I first did flame cone 1, then flame single 2. I then noticed there were two different tics of damage at different intervals. I am guessing there are other combinations of stacking too. I don't know if this is by design or what, but the DEVS might want to know.
laters,

laters,
Good to know. Thanks...
FYI, most classes can do this. As an example, healthshot1 and healtshot2 can be stacked as a novice pistoleer.
they stack? doesnt make sense....
you shot something with fire and it becomes a running ball of flames, shooting it with more fire will do more damage but wont make it a larger ball of flames
thats entirely dependent on the fuel thats feeding the flames (if the guys wearin hair spray for example)
however you shoot someone and cause them to bleed, then you shoot someone in a diffrent spot to cause them to bleed more, they still bleed in the first spot, this makes sense as they now have 2 holes in them.
I suppose you COULD say that burning them twice makes them burn hotter... in which case I would say let flamesingle 1 stack with flamesingle 1? but rather then adding burn damage it merely increases the burn tic already applied by 50% (you hit for 3000 damage, burn tic set is 1000, you hit for 3000, burn tic would now be 1500) but then again I dont think the victem would have the fuel to feed this extra heat for long ![]()
I think that burning on top of burning should stack just fine. You have x amount of napalm on you burning you up. Now you have twice as much napalm on you, burning you up so you take more damage. Makes sense to me.
When thinking about how wonder stacking is, remember the amount of time to get these shots off. Sure against a lower level creature you'd have time, but then again against a lower level creature you dont really need to stack. And if its a high end creature odds are your best outcome will be a tie with you incap'd and the creature dead. Against high end stuff we need a group.
um, that would be an awful lot of burn dot's. single1 already ticks at400-1200 (as far as i have seen) and another dot with same/more power can be applied?
doesn't sound to good to me. It doesn't matter how long the specials need to take off, thats what grouping is for.
inter-profession grouping is ok, but intra is bad. one is just too proficiant in the own profession weaknesses and strength, so 2 commandoswill be as powerfull as a train of AT-ST's.
it might take them a few seconds longer though ![]()
my opinion.
All your responses were good. I am still looking for a response from our correspondent letting us know it has been recorded for developers eyes, or at least developers already know about it. I did message the correspondent the link so it should get eyes eventually. This is pretty much just a bump since it has only been a day.
thanks,
Hmm if all differently named dots stack..
Flame single dot
Flame cone dot
health/body/mind shot 1
health/body/mind shot 2
BH flame dot thing
major ouchies..

Thanks for pointing me to the thread, though I was aware of the stacking. As several other writers have pointed out, all "bleeds" do this and it's my understanding that it's intentional. We're not getting any special bonuses that the other professions aren't so feel free to stack as many bleeds on a particular target as you can!

Thanks for taking the time to respond MasterSynn. And I knew prior to posting that other bleeding types could stack especially after reading the guides from Ivoni on bunny hunting
Not sure why someone decided to give the posts a rating of one
. It was simply something I thought might need some attention givin the magnitude of DOT.
at any rate thanks again,
