Thread: What are reasonably good stats on a Flame Thrower

I don't own one yet, never have, (still grinding unarmed) so I'm unfamiliar with their typical min/max damage. I've seen ones discarded that had a max dmg of 900-something.

So, what, generally speaking, is a good range of dmg to look for when buying a Flame thrower?
Specifically the kind that would be easy to come by at a weaponsmith shop, not necessarily a Krayt or whatever enhanced one (if they even exist) that costs 500,000 creds, but something more reasonable, like 100-200k range or less.

Thanks.

I'd say that on anunsliced flamethrower good stats are around the400-800+ range (that means some where in that areabut not below 400 min damage) and a speed of 5.0 isgood (there are faster flamethrowers)

My good old trusty flamethrower that I've had sencebefore Iwas a NoviceCommando has a 5.0 speed and 550-1000+ damage (after slicing, it was a damage slice) My old flamethrower is getting old (509/958 condition)

Pre-slice my FT was 400-800ish (not ingame so bear with me) and low 4's on speed... got a good speed slice on it bringing it to a killer 3.3....

So, 400-800 4.5 or so should set you up for a good slice... and on Corbantis ya never see em go for more than like 40k, but I have been thinking about getting my WS to make a Krayt one.......

Got a Kryat made FT using +45 max damage -.594 speed kryat tissue. Its starting speed and damage was 3.9 521-887 (because of the tissue, also I might be off on the low end damage I will have to check) and I lucked out and got a 30% speed slice which made it 2.7 speed. Then our +45 speed mod reduces it further and I can happily say this is my number one toy in PvE =). It allows me to apply my 4 flame specials rather quickly. And because I supplied the kryat tissue it only cost me 25k(the running average on Kauri). I can only imagine what it would be like if someone would be able to find and use the -.9 speed kryat tissues I keep hearing about going into pistols. Seesh.

The bread and butter though is my PvP toy with a 34% damage slice. Sure it is slow as all get out(4.6 speed)but the intital damage it does makes few get near me =). One thing you can do is find a weaponsmith with good prices, supply him if you can with resrouces and whatnot, and buy as many flamers as you can. Then find a well respected Master Smuggler and get the flamers sliced. I went through several flamers until I got the 34% damage slice I wanted then resold the rest that were speed sliced ones.

My flame thrower cost me 13 000 + slice cost I think. It was 440-840 4.7 something. Got a speed slice on it so now it's 3.9 speed.

Got a 550-1005 5.0 Flamer too, haven't used that one though.

I have no idea why, but . . .

Last night on the Bazaar a friend found and baught me a sliced flamethrower that was 4.8speed and max damage around 1035. Since it was on the Bazaar it was only 3k. He also picked up a couple disposable weapons. Condition was 856/856 approx.

Don't know why someone put them up on Bazaar so cheap, but there they were.

Check the damage on the heavy weapons. They may be the old school ones that couldn't hurt a gnort. On a side note I never pay over 20k for a disposable heavy weapon.

ok i just had12flamers custom made they came from a master weapons smith as 500 min. damage 818 max damage.

I then had them sliced best damage at 32% was 1058 4.8 sec rate of fire not to shabby.

the best speed was 3.2 secs at 880 damage.

i paid roughly 10k for eack flamer and paid 100 credits per 1% to the slicer, however i did pay the slicer double what he was asking because it was a large order to have sliced as i had about 10 pistols sliced in addition to the the 12 flamers.
