Thread: atst and nades
I went to a static spawn today and killed a whole lot of atsts. Tried different weapons flammethrower of course beeing number one. I tried rocket launcher and got pretty good damge with it, and of course launcher pistol can be nice (i use panic shot).
Then i decided to try some nades. I threw a proton grenade with power up and hit for almost 6k!! that more than i ever got with a RL. Since protons are ar1 and heath damage, i found it strange doing so much damage. So i tried thermal dets wich by the stats (ap2 and blast damge) should do much more damage to an atst. I got around 3k damge with these. Still pretty good, but i found i strange protons beeing better (even better than RL). Anyone else have any experience with this, or nades with ATST at all?
Maybe proton have wrong stats?
Maybe nades are underestimated for this use?

I'll have to try this one; finding Proton nades on Bloodfin and affording them is hell. I'm gonna see what I find.... maybe I can get some free ones on TC.
I've found that a big problem with grenades are that they have been poorly made, but once you find someone who actually makes good ones the thermal det and proton grenades can work really well.
The problem is, there is no one out there that wants to craft them like that all the time. I didnt get that far when I did weaponsmit, but I imagine there must be a lot of work that goes into em and then you cant sell them for very much.

In the past 2-3 weeks I've made 1000 Protons, 1000 Thermals, 1000 C12's, 1000 C22's and 200 Rocket Launchers. I do commando Weapons almost exclusively.
gernades vers at-st hum i say its still cheaper and esyer to use last dich(stuns) panick shot(dleays for 10secs but becous its stuned it actuly delays for 20 secs) flame singel 2 and flame cone 2 on it then feign death and wach it burn to nothing ness
and as for it hiting for more dam some csr tould me thatgernads actuly rely on ac to dam
wich meens that if it says + thrown wepon accracy it also meens + thrown wepon dam

I want to know if the nades arenore usuable than RL, and if the protons have the wrong stats. So if anyone cold try that?
Feign death is not a viable option at all times, and i prefer doing them standing upright.
a few problems with this is that the number you see above it is not the damage that the atst is taking. the devs are too lazy to fix the number that shows up above the thing you're attacking to show the damage that the thing is taking, the number shows the damage that you are doing before resist and ap are taken into account.
rl's do blast damage and have ap3 so they do alot more damage then the 4k that shows up (or at least should, could be a bugged like everything else). proton gernads do,I think, heat damage (too lazy to check right now) plus have ap1 (again can't remember for sure) so going by that the number that shows above the atst is no where near what damage that atst is really taking.

I wish you were on lowca right now making these grenades. Ive cleaned out the galaxy on the bazaar of any grenade that does over 750 damage(aside from therms and protons tha im not creted on) and all the vendors I could find that made any decent ones and used em all. Gotta check again to see if anymore are available cause im only 90k combat xp away from master commando and wthout grenades that means I'd need 900k regular xp befor I got there.
So close I can taste it.

Chong, you just became my new best friend.
Ive been to your shop before and got some Glops....good stuff.
But im now needing some replacement items that only you may make since your doing commando exclusively.
Needing the RL, which I see you keep in stock. Will be by today to pick some of those up, along with the Thermals and Protons. Also needing the other two charged guns....do you ever make those?
