Thread: Why me SOE, why me?!?!?!?!?!

I spent an hour or 2 in the crystal cave tonight trying to get a holocron so i could tell whether to master commando or not. When i finally got it, my heart almost stopped. I used it and it wants me to be a musician. The only thing that could be worse is a dancer. I have worked very hard to get to earn the Xp to master commando and I have desided that I would rather give up my chance of being a jedi on this server than have to drop commando (I wont drop my Ch skills cause i would need my pets when I am a worthless entertainer, no offense to any entertainers but you guys must get bored as hell). If it had been a fighting or crafting profession I might have dropped it, at least i would still be a useful soldier or become rich. I just don't have it in me to become an entertainer. I guess I have been freed of expectation but I am still very disappointed. What would you guys do?

I woulda dropped commando and done it, but this game sucks hard, it has nothing, and I aint paying for a game thats going no where fast, even talked my wife into giving up her dancer so I dont have to keep paying SoE for this junk pile.

I looted a Sith Holocron off a force sensitive NPC, and it doesnt say anything on the propertiespage, or anywhere else that i can see.

How does this holocron business work?
Do you drop it on yourself? Do you have to cast some magic spell to get it to work?

Double Click on it or use the Radial Menu... once you use it, it disappears, so be ready.

Yes It could be worse - which is funny actually.
I was expecting Master Image Designer or Master Droid Engineer.

Does anyone know what happens once the required mastery has been reached?

OK, ive thought about it long and hard and here is what i might do. It will take 92 points to get to master mucisian (which i still dread every second of). After that I can keep my current CH skills so I wont be completely useless in combat. I can work up 2 trees of pistoleer or carbineer and still keep novice medic. I am assuming that i can just drop musician once I have mastered it. If it doesn't work that way then I am still screwed because there is no way that I am gonna continue playing a character who's main profession is playing a flute to heal other people's mind so that they can go adverture in the wild. So for now I guess Im going to learn to play an instrument and make a good AFK macro. It's been fun being a commando but for now, you can find me in the cantina's. BORED OUT OF MY MIND! If anyone knows if I can drop the skill after i master it please let me know. If thats how it is, then screw being a jedi.

Not only can you drop it, but my understanding is that you will have to drop it. In fact,as far asI can gather, you will have to master as many as 4 other professions befor you get the slot. Mastering Musician is only one step. More frustration will follow if you want the Jedi slot.

I am not positive what I would do to get FSS, but I know this... I will master commando and TKM before I go toward whatever a Holocron would tell me. Most likely if I get a Holocron it will tell me to master a non-combat profession, so I will probably drop commando before TKM since commando is so easy to master (comparitively IMO), and TKM requires significantly less skillpoints so I could probably get some good medic or doc skills along with whatever profession my Holo made me do.

Has anyone ever gotten a Holocron that gave them the profession they were already headed towards? Seems like everyone gets something in another tree entirely.

On a side note, I don't think any Sith Holocron should ever suggest that the path to "absolute power" takes you to Master Image Designer.

Figures all you powergamers would rip on musicians, dancers, and entertainers. I hope you all get assigned Master Dancer or Master Musician so you can take a time-out from the combat exp grinding and whichever side of the PVP Whine/Gloat coin you fall on, and actually participate in the social aspect of this game.

Dancer/Musician is only boring if you choose to view it as a grind, and that's because grinds are always boring. Being a successful entertainer is infinitelymore challenging than being a good PVPer, because you can't do it by virtue of your stats.

It's much more difficult to tame a cantina full of rowdy PVPers than it is to tame a graul. You should give them more respect.
