go to Dantooine, you will own there, but if anything has heat resis,
more than likely kiss ur arse bye bye

yeah, just dont attack things with armor either... dont even attempt pvp...

I kill stuff with 100% heat reist using my flamethrower.
and if they AREN'T immune to heat, watch out, 'cause man they're getting owned.
I'ma master rifleman and master commando. I mostly like to hunt nightsisters, krayts and your occasional acklay. (killed the gorax a couple days back too)
krayts: for the smaller krayts on up to even the giants rifle kills 'em faster. but the krayt dragon ancients, hoo boy, flamer is the only way to fly against heavy armour 95% resist all (except cold at 65, but with heavy armour and sg82 having no AP, it might as well be 95 too)
nightsisters: if they're not immune to energy they die to t-21 faster than flamer. if they ARE immune to energy flamer kills them just fine.
acklay: flamer works okay, but rifle is better.
gorax: same as acklay
my general thesis: commando is obviously much weaker than before the DOT nerf, but as it stands now commandos and combat medics have the only DOTs worth even bothering to use anymore. you can still take down an ancient krayt on flame DOT (yeah it takes a while), so I'd say commando an't so bad for PvE.
if you're fighting high end MOBs my list for PvE power is as follows:
1) rifleman
2) commando
3) swordsman
(I rank commando over swordsman because while swordsmen are definately more powerful against things with low blast resist, they suck it up if the MOB has good blast resist, while commandos can use flame DOT to kill ANYTHING, regardless of resists)

I have been a master for a number of months and will give my opinion then. If you are fighting anyone with any skill at all with buffs and armor you will lose. Period. A flamer with a small DOT and little chance to hit mixed with no armor piercing adds up to getting destroyed in PvP. Thats just how it works. Our rocket launchersmiss too much to be reliable, not including the costin both monetary and HAM terms.The only way to survive in PvP is to rely on other profession's abilities. (Such as TKA's defense stacking and knockdown/dizzy)But a straight up Commando will lose. Try dueling a TKM with armor and buffs on the both of you, or a rifleman even. I'm sorry but we really can't compete.

some people aren't very good at reading thread titles it seems. you people talking about PvP need to go find/make your own thread.

i dropped tka today actually, and have just tried commando in pvp once. But dueling a tk shouldnt be to much a problem with 60 -80% kinetic a PSG, and buffs, a tka wont be able to scratch you, throw in some food with def against KD\dizzy and you shouldnyt have a problem.

Commando's are great against small and medium creatures (ie up to around 10kish ham), however beyond that things seem to grow heat resists out the ass.
Once you start hitting creatures with ap1+ and 60%+ heat resists then other classes are better in pve.
