Thread: Hope Gone
Things get broken and things get fixed. Now is our broken time.
If the Devs do have a bias thinking we're still unbalanced, then they're not looking at the commando of now. However, I really doubt this is what they think as we *can* so easily become unbalanced, and there needs to be caution in dealing with us.
But that begs the question - why? Why were we put into such a position? We want to blow stuff up, not be stressed about balance at the moment...thats the flaw with the developers I see, what exactly a commando is. Helios saw it and things were really looking great before the CU launched...

This then forces the question, "What can we do to help?" Do we need to spam the jedi boards using the "Jedi Whined Trick"? Do we need to write letters? Do we need to PM all the devs? Do I drive down to austin and show them what a flamethrower is all about? Seriously, do we need to email them pr0n or something and clip out the good bits till they fix us? (I am not shopping for weeners for Tiggs!) Maybe we should all just get together around their offices both in San Fran and in Austin and scream "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!" at them for a day. I know developement and testing and QA etc take time, unless its for the jedi, but by the Emporers Toenails, this sucks!

Kinda makes ya wonder why the Devs can't get things under control...not saying that WOW is perfect, but dang....2million is quite a number, those little chinese people...![]()
This is one of the best boards that has generated so many great ideas and discussions, of which almost all in my time as correspondentship Ive posted on the corr forums. Our only hope is that someone is listening...even if they're not responding...
Btw, on the WoW thing heh...maybe SOE shouldve released in China rather than Japan :0
I'm sure all of us want to help, but ya have to admit, our hearts, hopes, and dreams were shattered upon release of the CU, and we're still trying to recover.
We can't come up with ideas other than what we already have done: make some of our weapons non-AOE and give us AB....plus some specials. I mean, making a profession only by its weapons wets us up for some serious disaster. Sure I was hopeful for the system, but the more I thought about it Pre-CU, the more I realized that if we had built-in specials, then the Devs wouldn't give us what we truly wanted....massive damage. We all loved out flamer Pre-CU because it could put people in a world of hurt: a KD'd person+flamesingle2=death, as well as a tanker+flamer+krayt=original or extra crispy? But now our flamer is laughed at, as well as scorned--we only aggro creatures, and with the new dmg multipliers and levels (BAD IDEA DEVS!!!!), multiple targets leaves groups broken and bloody....if they survive at all. Plus, if our 5 in damage dealing is supposed to be fomr damaging multiple targets, then we out-right suck at duels and single-target aggros....which is all groups do nowadays BECAUSE of the previous comment.
Sure, we want to be better. Sure we all love commando. But we have been kicked and spat upon since ye days of old with the revenge TEF and our DOT.....then after that there were looted mind fires that did more damage than our flamer...even though we still kicked arse as roasting droids hehe. We were exploited for our grenades only, when the Devs were too lazy to use grenades as only Heavy Weapons XP, and perhaps just doubled the XP costs for the line. Sure, we might have been still exploited, but at least the FS bastads would have been forced to take the full tree.....bah I'm sick of the village crap.
Helios might have tried hard to help us, but he is only one person.....and we have seen what even a whole community can do.....NOTHING (barring the Jedi community of course). But if you look around Star, there are still decent posts. Cpl posted his Legend Profession thread....which can be flushed out a bit more of course, but there is still some hope left. I think we need a massive post of non-issues here.....like bring back another tank thread, or perhaps get some other Corrs in here (like what Ack does) to see what we are doing. I know that what we want may offend others, but we don't communicate then there is no hope whatsoever. Perhaps if we even get a jedi seal of approval on some things we could get them fixed.....even if it isn't just for commando.
So what we can do to help is just that: increase the communication that has drastically gone down even between players, and try to come up with decent proposals to go along with the dozen we already have. Heck, we might find out that some proposals are made obsolete, and we could even combine a few.....not just commando proposals, mind you--but cross-profession, cross-game techs that can be combined to truly make SWG a legend among MMORPGs.....SCREW CHINA!! ![]()
i was really excited too. at the end of last year i stopped participating in combat entirely, i didnt see the point. the combat rebalance gave me hope, and im back to fighting again and im excited. but if they take commando away from me, i might as well just become an entertainer.

algiz made a great post about an ewok cannon, gotta love valcyn for generating nut cases, I think its all the inbreeding on such a small server. I gotta agree with ya Starnick though, lack of ANY Dev feedback is the main issue, even if its just a PM from Helios explaining to Ryubushi that he needs some proffessional help ![]()
To all the frustrated Commando's out there, Post your ideas, get them out there, even if it gets shot down by the community, It's good becuase it provokes thought.
Starnick, Sticky the threads that have the most support, and/or ideas, and beg/pleade with the devs for at least a good, bad or coyote ugly feedback.
