I'm thinking of buying these skill tapes in advance to save myself a load of money, i've already bought a +25 to heavy weapon speed AA and am currently asking forothers for under 100k (that +25 was won for 500k). Yes ,i have read the post that they SHOULD return in the combat revamp, but i just wanted opinions. Thank you!

It's up to you, but personally, I'm not. The devs have not said whether the old tapes will be working when the Combat Rebalance hits. There's even a hint that heavy weapon mods will be consolidated into one new set.

It's all up in the air right now, unless I missed some news about this.

I can confirm that the current plan is to use the Heavy Weapon mods that are currently in game after the Revamp (when we'll be going to generic Heavy Weapon Accuracy and Heavy Weapon Speed as reported by TH awhile back)...So currently, all of the old lootable Heavy Weapon mods will supposedly work after the Revamp...

Notice I prefaced that first paragragh with "the plan is"...The reason I did that is because we all know that things can change...nothing is set in stone until we see it for ourselves...I won't be 100% confident that our lootable mods will work until I see it on the Sandbox, and even then that doesn't guarentee that things won't change before hitting live...

So right now I'd say you have better then a 60% chance that these old mods will work again post revamp (mainly because I've been specifically told they would), but is still a risk you run...Personally, I sitting on a little stash of them myself...

While I doubt you'll be able to say, any word on what levels those mods will be at? Right now we've got speed varying from 45-70 depending on weapon, just curious if there's any word what the post-roll-together levels will be. (Not, I suppose, that it really matters, given that many if not all of the equations will be changing...but still...)

To be truthful, anything that I could or couldn't tell you at this point is totally subject to change and probably will on the Sandbox...All I can say is, from what I've seen and what TH has already said publically (the reason I have no problem talking about this) is that, with us going back to generic "Heavy Weapon Speed" and "Heavy Weapon Accuracy", will cover all of our Heavy Weapons (consumable and non-consumable) with the exception of our Grenades and possibly something else being proposed (not sure where it will fall yet...don't even think the Devs know yet)...

When all is said and done...A Master Commando will have more speed and accuracy then a Dabbler, especially a 1 tree dabbler...but, here comes another evil hint, there will be a way to be faster and more accurate then even a Master Commando with our Heavy Weapons (and it's a good thing )...

If you're saying what I think you're saying…dammit! I don't want to drop any smuggler for BH.

So, Garvin,

Would I need to take action with my current setup? Would that push me over the top with Heavy Weapons?

i have a feeling garvin is hinting toward the force sensitive ranged speed/accuracy trees which only cost 1 skill point per box to get for a total of 8 skill points we could get +12/+12 speed/accuracy. which is suffice to say very nice

The FS route will definitely be one way to go...
