Geting bored of the my template (mch/pistoleer) so i was tinking of changing.

Was tinking of mch/commando flame 4. Anyone tried it and does it work well for you?

How good are the dots at flame 4 and do they give ok damage?

This will be a pure pvm template.

My plan was to send in pets then drop flame dots on the target and thenback away a bit.

Should help againt the upcoming agro change.

With the Flamethrower I'm currently using,I'm getting flame DOTs for about 2000 - 2800 every 8 seconds. The initial damage is usually between 4000 - 7000, dependant upon the mob's resistance to Heat.

Hope this helps.

I am currently trying this myself. I never had a pet before this exept a few rebel factional pets. My fourth pet I trained as a novice ch was a mtn. krevol trained by Lake Retreat ,ham will max a 2200 when full grown. Using my baby beetle I can solo a level 25 storm trooper camp with little or no damage to myself. I sic the bettle on the st. run up flame him and go on to the next one. They will all target and fire on your pet. Most mobs will do the same thing.Attack the pet and leave you do bbq everything else. I have surrendered all my acid rifle skills and all but the first level of the gernade skills. I have both flame and heavy weap support maxed. So far this is working great for me and I'm having a lot of fun.

I used to use pets, but it was so easy it left a bad taste in my mouth. Now I run missions with bone armour, flamethrower, and maybe an urban guerilla or something.

I got rid of my mtn krevol in favor of a 400 HAM veermok scout, by the way I'm currently looking around for a couple more interesting pets before I drop novice CH

In any event, with Flame IV and MCH, you can doany faction mission solo (if rebel, a few nice burns and a rancor will put down a solo AT-ST mission) and I'd say a high level Dathomir mission without any support (wouldhave to be abreak between missions, I would think: constantly with a good medic/doc)

Just a quick question...

I am trying to decide on a good template to go with CH. At the moment I am Master Swordsman, Master Scout and CH 2223 - oh, and a little medic skills.

I know as I get stronger pets, I can do away with some of the sword skills - or would I be better off getting rid altogether and going for rifles / pistols.

Sorry is this sounds like a noobs question - but I am a noob

I would be interested to hear what setup anyone out there has.

i see alot of people either have MCH and Master pistoleer and whatever else they decide to have but i took up dirty fighting 4 in smuggler and i can survive just about everything. most people say feign death doesn't work and it's useless, but once you get the timing down on it, you can solo kimogilas. lowblow is also a wonderful thing! knocking things down when they are agroing you and sending your pets on them is so useful i can't even describe it in words...just actions. so if you happen to build a char or have an existing char on Chilastra, send jaydenel a tell and i will help you anyway possible

ch compliments ranged professions better then melee. i started as a rifleman and with pets to keep mobs at distance i could solo just about anything one on one (except for the obvious, krayts and what not). no armor, buffs or various foods/drinks are required. with melee you're getting hit just as much (if not more) then your pets.

the advantage of a melee CH is if you start taking too much damage just take a few steps back and spam peace. the mob will focus on your pets after a few seconds and will give you time to heal, meditate or whatever.

Master Rifleman, hands down. I am blown away with this new template. If we could just call pets without the timer. It would be unbeatable I think.

I will agree, I am working on rifleman and it works great, even at the marksman level.

However, I was a master swordsman (yeah, I can't decide on a combat profession) and I was hunting graul maulers with my level 49 Rancor, unbuffed and unarmored.

Creature Hander actually complements a WIDE range of professions. I've done TKM, Swordsman, Pikeman, Carbineer, Rifle now. I know a friend that is pistoleer/mch. Heck, knew someone that took some commando skills with CH. Not only that, now that itis possible, I've ran into aMBH/MCH, I've heard the LLC is good to use with pets. The fact is, your pets will help ya out no matter. But I will say, if you're gonna want to hunt unbuffed and unarmored, I would go Rifle, Carbineer at the least. Unless you wanna give one of the hybrid professions a try, then go for it.

CH is like Keyanne pepper, goes good with damn near anything.

I think it depends on how much you like being Swordsman. If you enjoy it then I would probably drop some of the scout skills so you can master CH, unless you have something else you can drop. You really need some sort of combat profession with pets. Ranged professions tend to compliment MCH better than melee but both work just fine.

If you keep Swordsman, just know that you will still be the main tank when fighting. Your pets will be secondary. But you can have your pets load up the mobs with specials (intimidate, dizzy, poison, disease) and it works out really nice. Saves you having to waste hits on those.

I've found the benefit of melee professions is you don't have to heal your pets as much and you can probably kill mobs that your pet probably couldn't tank by itself if you were using a ranged profession. For example, I'm TKM and I've had 15+ enraged rancors on me before and killed them all. There is no way any of my pets could have taken that kind of beating. But the drawback is that you must always fight buffed. With a ranged profession you don't typically need buffs to fight.

I too am a MCH/TKM and it works great. The meditation tree takes care of poison, disease, and all wounds quickly. This is helpful when hunting rares that can have some nasty specials. The only time you need to go to town is to get buffed or heal BF. If you migrate your stats to mind you can use powerboost to hunt some things unbuffed. I have soloed 16 Enraged Bull Rancors but you need good buffs and armor for that. Nothing worse than getting hit with Plague Strike or Strong Disease and then have to find some on to heal wounds or cure disease. On my server that can take hours.
