Thread: Combat xp from Nades nerfed before CU in a mini publish? Some guy said he has info.

WEll I dont want to believe this, becuase it means there will be mad dash for people to finish jedi grind and no grenades in stock. However this guy in my sologroup tonight said that he has a friend that is a friend of a DEV. This Dev told the guy that an upcoming minipublish will nerf combat xp from nades. Will make it 30:1 just like other weapons xp. Not sure how this is possible w/out giving grenades their own type of xp. Otherwise its not fair ot those that are leveling FS boxes and rely on combat xp 3:1.

well if that be true then maybe then maybe grenades will give heavy weapons exp instead of combat exp?

If they do that, then it doesn't matter to us commando, as long as they don't in effect touch our profession. Grenades will stay as combat exp, just the rate will change and in effect not make commando so wanted for fs grind.

a friend of a friend? i hope they are right. i dont care about the xp, just the damage and the use. and if this slows down the jedi migration then i am all for it. i bet 10 % combat, like most others, and 90 % heavy weapons (i think that is the correct ratio).

No, i don't think they should change grenades, nor will they ever change it. I would believe more if they changed the exchange rate.

Seriously though...I'm not going to believe anything until I hear it straight from the Devs and so far I haven't heard anything regarding any changes to our Grenades prior to the CU...And even the CU plans, as far as I know, do not include ANY XPchange to our grenades...
So, for now, I'd just chalk it up to another grenade rumor like all the other "a grenade nerf is coming" rumors we've heard for a few months now (and none of them have come true).

If you change the Combat XP rate from 3:1, you're not nerfing grenades ... you're nerfing ALL weapons, you're just nerfing grenades more. As-is, Combat XP is half of what the other professions hand in already, in FS XP terms.

Even if it were true I don't believe it would really discourage anyone from becoming a Jedi. People were willing to do the hologrind, they were andare willing to do the FS grind it doesn't matter if you were to remove the grenades they would find something else to replace it. There are some who are doing the db/rez thing cms who find a spawn or two and just spam low end posions and diseases till they cap and then turn their XP in and go and do it again. There are plenty of ways to get FS fairly quickly and those who are determined to get it done will find new methods.
I highly doubt they will willl change combat xp to 30:1 but I guess it could happen but then you make it easier to craft your way to FS and you invite in the third party software again. I really don't see that as a vaible option.
The problem with Jedi folks is truly not those who bought the game to be Jedi its those who are becoming Jedi not for desire of being a Jedi but so they can be "ub3r l337 p0wnzrs" and what ever else they say now a days. My hope and my wish and desire is that they bring a true balance in the CU to remove the strain of such from the game.
Hey Just take awy the full block from heavy weapon and I'd be happy. Doesn't make sense that there glowy stick can block a ball of fire. Make it a percentage block like rifleman and pikemn have when it comes to heavy weapons. Anway getting off subject.....

lmao the holo grind seemed like a challenge back in the day when i heard of it but now it sounds like an interesting easier challenge then the current grne gren gren flame , gren gren gren flame pattern ive created lol

didn't read past the 2nd post (probaly should have but...)
wednesday I used 'nades to extrimnate quekes and got th estandard 5k combat xp.
The 30:1 is the ratio that heavy weapons is traded in for FS XP.
Currently combat XP is traded in at a 3:1 ratio.
