Commandos we're brutal in the beginning, but I knew they had so much potential so I stuck with it from the start! Now we all have to pay for it when the bigvorpal nerf sword comes down

Ah well, hope they don't swing it from uselessclass to killer class to useless class again, and have things a bit more on the balanced side.

That is all.

Ok...I keep seeing people post shots at "bandwagoneers"...and "post-patch commandos"...are you just referring to those who jumped on the Commando skill tree because of upgrades, or do you consider anyone who came post-patch a "bandwagon" individual...what's wrong with us post-patch people...we are not all the same...

When I was still working on my Master Marksman (before the big patch) I read up on all the elite professions...I posted questions in various forums on the pluses and minues of each decission...and in the long run decided that I wanted to be a Commando...this decission was based on what I thought Commando's would some day become...the were plenty of Dev promises out there to one day make Commandos one of the most powerful professions out there...While I was grinding away on unarmed 3 & 4 the big patch came...I paid some attention to it, but just kept grinding away...now taking a penalty for using my vibroknucklers...when Commandos before me took no penalties as far as I know...

I'm not a bandwagoneer...if they nerf us I don't plan on changing my profession...I know that in the end things will balance out...and I will keep grinding away until I hit Master...Seems to me the BIG patch made it easier to "Master" Commando by providing better weapons...but if you take another look, it made it harder for all us Commando wanna-bes to become a Commando Novice...I got there and Now I'm working my way up the flame thrower tree...

No matter what happens...I will be a Master Commando...so don't lump all us Post-Patch folks together...

Obi want a cookie for being the one who started a class and stuck with it?

This game is designed for you to switch classes so when you get bored of one, you change your profession.

When you tell them of "the old days"? The game hasn't been out 3 months yet, lol!

UO is "the old days".

I think you need to lighten up bud. I was originally gonna be a commando, then I started reading the forums. The commandos at the time told me to wait and get something else. I kept working on the prerequisites and got every elite prof i could (Carbineer/pistoleer/ranger/BH/CH/squadleader(dropped quick)) and am nearly through with unarmed 4. So when I do make commando, I hope you have changed your attitude and simply help others who want to be like *YOU* (compliment FYI).

I find it amazing that even though on Sept 15 Holocron posted that the person responsible for combat design and balance thought that commandos were spot on in what they could do and many posts on this forum prior to this one include reference to it that we still see this kind of post. Its 2003, the Y2K bug isn't going to destroy the world, ok.

To the person who posted that he/she would not train any of the 'noob' commandos in game....that is about the most rotten thing I've ever heard. I got the game a month after it came out, pre-patch, and decided to be a commando. I didn't have much opportunity to play for a while, but I kept at it, grinding up my master marksman and brawler spec, and finally at the beginning of Sept, post-patch, I made novice. I read the boards, saw the complaints, and kept at it, because I wanted my flamethrower, regardless of whether or not it made me a monster. I will continue to commando if there is a re-balance, even if it takes the profession back to the dark days. Am I a bandwagoneer? Just because I didn't have to deal with Dev incompetency the way you did, the profession should be capped?? Sometimes life isn't fair. Don't punish new commandos for dev issues that they have nothing to do with.

I guess, if you think that makes me a bandwagoneer, you are entitled to go ahead and be a jerk and refuse to teach up and coming commandos their skills. But if you thinka person like medeserves assistance in the profession (on the WAY OUT THERE assumption that you are entitled to judge) then you should be teaching every commando who comes up to you and asks politely, because you can't tell the difference between a so-called bandwagoneer or a newcomer to the game who respects the profession and plans to stick to it. Come on, save the emnity for the opposing faction and at give newcomers a chance to shine.

It's too hard to tell sometimes who's a bandwagoner and who's just newer to the game. If you KNOW a person was a BH before the patch, a CH the patch before that, and uses every powerlvling exploit abuse known to man (or wookiee), then don't train em, don't consider them a 'real' commando. If you don't know, however, and all you can tell is that they just got novice commando, ya gotta assume that they're just new to the class and need some training! Just don't assume all are the same and be rude...gives the rest of the commandos a bad name.
