Thread: Why stupid people want Commando nerfed: A story of a raid
Last night, some rebels raided Bestine. There were probably 15 or so rebels, and they came in and killed everyone at the outpost. I came back and torched a couple people, then got killed. (Mainly by waiting to attack them until they were in combat and distracted) Now, eventually the rebels left except for 4-5 rebels. All commandos.
By this time the Imperials were organized, a full team of 20. Guess what, they all stood in front of the outpost, overt, waiting for people to fight. What's REALLY funny is how they were all within 4 meters of each other.
Revenge TEF + 20 Imperials within 4m of each other + Flame Cone = A lot of dead people with a lot of wounds.
I was one of the few Imperials there that stayed out of range, while the Squad Leader frantically screamed out "Spread out! SPREAD OUT!" and no one listened. Then of course, they say "Commando's are going to get nerfed. They're way too strong."
What really pains me, is that the people crying are probably going to get attention. Which is why I'm playing while I can! Before they make us useless again.
You know what the best part was? Most people ya know... learn from their mistakes? They sat there for FIVE WAVES. 5 separate times people came up and torched them all.
Idiots...
Its funny when folks see a Commando come running at them they just stand there and spam what ever special (eye shot) and complain when we flame them. I hate PvP... but when I get attacked I'm going to defend myself the best way I know how.
I've only had two people initiate combat against me and try to kite me. We aren't gods, we just played broken so long we learned how to do things better.
BTW, Evel, I salute you. Ran into you in Theed on Sunday and you put on a good show. I took so many eye shots I'm surprised I'm not blind.

I'm starting to think that half the fun of Commando is from choosing a faction... too bad I'm still perfectly neutral. ^_^
Yeah it was fun this weekend! Just for clarity's sake, I wasnt doing eyeshots. I know you know that but others might think it based on what you said. I was doing FT.

I had a similar exp on Naritus this weekend. I'm cover reb and we were in Narmle to do a dungeon there. My friend was over reb and there were imps right off the shuttle. My friend ran (trying to avoid a fight while leaving for a dungeon) and myself and my BH buddy were inside 20m of the imp. My overt friend was wearing the PA tag, as was the BH and myself. I was equipped with the FT and basically giving him fair warning to back off, but he opened up on my friend with his rifle while kneeling. FT and LLC opened up and that was that....1 shot killed.
Morales of the story: Don't attack a guilded overt player if there's multiple guildmates around unless you got what it takes to take them all.
Don't use a rifle and posture change inside melee distance of a commando.
Teaching folks not to bunch up in a crisis is something that has to be constantly reinforced during RL military training. Before long, people start to realize group==prime target.
As far as the Rebels not being organized on Bloodfin, that isn't a requirement for area targets. Many just love to bunch up. The only time they don't seem to be bunched is when they are running pell mell into the fight. Flame thrower loves the bunching. That's why I'm leveling it first. By the time they realize that's a problem and get things that resist it, I should have HAR levelled. ![]()
