Good work Raythen. Certainly seems AoE is wonky...last night I was getting full damage on AoE with the LBC, and occassionally higher ddamage tha listed on the PFT...

Awesome info, any chance you could maybe mess with the spacing a little bit on an edit, kind of hard to tell which column goes where.

They should have a shooting range for target practice

I'll see if I can condense it a bit. Gimme a sec.

Okay. That any better?

(BTW, I'll be headed off to get a new proton rifle from a frog and testing it in a sec.)

Great information...thanks for taking the time to compile this...Although I know some of it still represents some "issues" that need to be fixed, it's interesting how some of our weapons are better suited for different kinds of attacks...If I'm reading this right, looks to me like we might have strategic reasons to switch weapons for different attacks depending on when we want a bigger AOE, or lower AOE, or specialized attack (focusing on cooldown time related and such).

Very interesting....

I got a feeling its not intended Garvin. The LBC last night was giving me 100% AoE damage, earlier today the PFT was on and off in AoE...as prior they were working at 100% capacity, and there wasnt a mention in the patch notes about a reduction in AoE...

Just glad I could help.

I'd be interested in seeing a damage graph for the other "Nuke" professions (i.e. swordsman and rifleman) to see how our damage compares. Rumor has it we're somewhat behind at the moment.

Oh, and I think I finally got that pesky graph so it'll fit on the screens for people who run 1024 x 768 and not mess up massively. Can someone confirm?

(Wish the spacing would stay the same from the way it looks when I type it to the final output. lol)

EDIT: Just remembered something I wanted to mention: the person who talked about having a firing-range was onto something. If they could put a few creatures in each city that has a frog that have 999,999 HAM, a massive HAM regen rate, no resists, and no ability to move or attack, it'd allow players to test out their weapons and specials and get exact numbers. It would also allow comparison between different weapons and different professions.

That would be cool but imagine the combat log spam you would get.

Hmm...that's right. Too bad it would require too much coding for them to put in an intstanced shooting range where only you and the people in group with you are present. It'd be a very useful tool, but would require a LOT of work on the Devs' parts - and they've got more important things to work on at the moment (flame dots, AoE damage, the need to increase damge output in general, etc. ).

That's what I figured too...but ignoring AOE, we can see that some weapons work better with some specials...and I don't think that's an accident (although the numbers aren't likely set in stone)...normally we'd just go with the most powerful special on the most powerful weapon, but with the cool down times being different, this is what I mean by adding a "strategic" element to the weapon choice we make and the special we go with.

Not every special works best with every weapon (so we don't have one "most powerful" weapon that we use all of our specials with)...

Okay, I just got done with testing AoE on all the commando weapons I had with me. This was done in the Darktrooper Base (think it's the Weapons Development Facility waypoint) on Naboo. The NPCs there seem to be bugged and most do not aggro you once inside, even after you start shooting them. That made it an ideal place for this test, because I can be certain these numbers are accurate and not muddled by the normal confusion of combat. All of the following stats reflect the damage and effects of the various commando weapons vs. darktroopers. They are done using Bounty Hunter specials. My full template (current) is Master Commando/Master Bounty Hunter/Pistoleer 0/0/0/4.

These numbers are collected from the Combat tab. The first number is the damage to the primary target, the second number (following the "/") is damage to the secondary targets. A "-" indicates no damage at all.

ADDED: Heavy Particle Cannon and damage notes for the basic Ranged Shot attack.

ADDED: stats on the now-working Proton Rifle

Advanced Improved Improved Basic

TorsoConfusion Underhand Improved CriticalRanged

Weapon ShotShot ShotEyeshot Shot Shot

Plasma Flamethrower 1530/205515/103722/103764/1031674/103681/103

Heavy Acid Rifle 777/-277/-368/-364/-789/-777/-

Heavy Particle Cannon 968/219343/110459/110483/110998/110436/110

All state effects currently appear to be working properly, but do not apply to nearby targets when no damage is inflicted to them. All secondary damage is unimpressive and could use increasing given increased aggro from AoE.

UPDATE: Heavy Acid Rifle blinds you as well as your target if you are within 10 meters. Further testing has indicated that the Flame DoT does not inflict any damage that I was able to determine. I would stop firing at a flaming Darktrooper and wait for the DoT to tick, but their HAM bars never went down. Eventually, the flames went out with no visible effect.

ADDED: GRENADES

Grenade Type Damage State Effect

C1264 None - not intended to have state.

C22 210 None - not intended to have state.

Cryoban 387 Snare - duration and effectiveness unknown.

Seems to last until another cryoban

is thrown. Note appears over target's

head showing state ending at that point.

Glop 484Blind - lasts for 7 seconds.

Imperial Detonator585 KD - lasts for 4 seconds.

Proton 773Fire DoT - not working.

Thermal Detonator675 Fire Dot - lasts only 2 seconds.

All grenades inflict the indicated damage to all targets within their radius. AoE seems to be working okay, but damage is unimpressive and state effects are weak. No real reason to bother using them in combat.

ADDED: VK

Weapon Type Melee Hit

Massassi Knuckler164 No state effects or AoE.
