In the Bounty Hunter Forum I came across this post, I love the idea.

so jedi are supposed to be rare, what about the mandalorians?since the jedi nemesis are bh why not create a mandalorian quest to unlock an awesome warrior.my reason is this in this time frame jedi are "rare" however this is not the case.mandalorians are extinct according to lucas although would anyone be interested in doing THE MANDALORE quests to wage war against the jedi in a game where continuity has been tossed aside.i feel in the next star wars episode 3 there will be more bounty hunters than in all the movies combined, just my theory.i would love to relive this type of profession.waging war, burning planets, wreaking havok.

Well considering that the Original Mandolorians were Commandos mainly (if you look up their lore)...I'd honestly think it would be more of a Commando thing then a BH thing...or maybe a Combo of them both, but not BH exclusive...

Jango had roots to the Mandolorians...but the Mandolorians weren't Bounty Hunters...

I myself am less then informed about StarWars History, thanks for the info. It would be really cool to have this. Since I hear the Mandolorian will be a Faction people will be able to join this could actually happen. Nothing I expect, but something I would like to see. Does anybody feel that this would be a good idea. Make the "profession" quest based to make it exteremely hard......i'm daydreaming.

Here is what some of the Star Wars encyclopedia sites say about Madalorians...

Mandalorian Shocktroopers

This group of super-commando warriors was formed from the traditions of the ancient Mandalorians. Decades before the Battle of Endor, the Mandalorians - known for their distinctive armor and helmets - fractured into two distinct groups. The true Mandalorians were led by Jaster Mereel, while the splinter group named themselves the Death Watch, and were led by Vizsla. Vizsla nearly destroyed the true Mandalorians on Concord Dawn, but could not. Jaster and his forces regrouped and grew strong again, with the help of mercenaries like Jango Fett. However, they were continually led into traps set by Vizsla and the Death Watch, which led Montross to believe that Jaster's leadership was failing. Many of the Mandalorians, however, stood behind Jaster, and later Jango Fett after Jaster was killed by Vizsla on Korda 6. Montross fled the group, which managed to survive for several more years before being led into an ambush on Galidraan. They were hired by the planetary governor to help defeat a group of insurrectionist rebels, unaware that the governor was under the control of Vizsla himself. The governor, acting on Vizsla's orders, had also contacted the Old Republic Senate, requesting the assistance of the Jedi Knights in defeating the Mandalorians. The governor claimed that the Mandalorians had been slaughtering political activitists and killing women and children, claims that Vizsla's forces actually committed. The Jedi task force, led by then-Master Dooku, eliminated the Mandalorians in combat. Only Jango Fett survived, but he was turned over to the planetary governor of Galidraan and enslaved. Note that this military band was referred to as the Imperial Shocktroopers in issue number 5 of the Bantha Tracks newsletter According to the newsletter, the Imperial Shocktroopers were wiped out by the Jedi Knights during the Clone Wars.

Great info! What site is a good one to beef up on Star Wars History? Also I am growing to like this idea a bit more. I would like the Devs in implement something in the game that allows a player to take their character above and beyond what they currently have with out having to go FS. Think of is as a "Epic Profession". Having to use ALL our skill points in a class, much like a Jedi has to, to be in this "Epic Profession", it's just a thought. And I know that the DEV's have alot to do and that they have lots of plans that they want to implement into the game. Also When you are at the Summit I would like you to thank them for me, I truly do appretiate their hard work.

That sounds like a pretty good idea. You would need to reorganizae our skill tree quite a bit though, not that we don't need it already.

Personally, I'd combine field tactics and heavy weapons. I would then toss acid rifle all together. I'd add our assault carbine tree which we all know we need and then maybe make the last open tree the mando tree. I'm not exactly sure what you would stick in there, but I would think it would be somewhat akin to smugglers' dirty fighting tree. This is where we could have the butt strokes, maybe the trachea blow which would be a huge stun move(you try getting hit in the throat). This is also the tree I'd use to extend our defenses a little bit. So I guess in this tree I'd have our melee moves with weapons, our unarmed moves, and some state defenses. Is that too much do you guys think? They could certainly break it up between the madno tree and field tactics. I don't know.

I'd also give us a cert to wear shock trooper armor. That's one of the coolest ideas I've heard floating around here. It'd be so nice to not be forced into composite. I think it looks good, but it's just so widespread and common.

I don't think a mandolorian tree above commando would be a good idea. We already require more skill points than any other profession in the game. Then again, giving other professions an "elite" status akin to force sensitivity and whatever there is for jedis may not be so bad. It could be just what this game needs to put the jedi back in their place. They're the ones that are supposed to be hunted, that are supposed stay covert and look over their shoulder and be constantly persecuted. An elite mando tree commando partnered with a solid bounty hunter might be just what this game needs.

As for special armor, can't they just make mando armor easier to get? Master commandos can wear mandolorian armor. It stinks you have hit the DWB to get the materials necessary. Those SBDs are nasty.

I would just like to see a way to augment our characters with out having to get two Elite professions or go FS. Everybody and their Uncle will be FS, I think that people may like to be able to buff up their characters by grinding to an "Epic" profession. I know what you are saying and I do agree, I'm just thinking towards the future for different Profession options I would like to see. There have been some various good idea posted in the BH forum.

This would kick ass, but i doubt it will be placed in the game, though if i remember correctly a mandalorian army rises again many years after ROTJ

garvin is correct the mandalore were warriors first, then when exiled from their home (adopted) planet they slowly filtered into whatever paid the bills.using their skills to make a living jango bounty hunter, canderous commando (from kotor).i personally would like to mix some commando with bh and have the extra character along with skill mods and new moves to give jedi a run for their money.

here is a mock example of what the new class warrior would look like, give or take.

MASTER MANDALORE WARRIOR

jet pack counter4 mandalore melee 4 explosives4 rifleman????

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

jet pack offense3mandalore melee3 artillery 3 carbineer????

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

jet pack defense2 mandalore melee 2 ordinance2 pistoleer????

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

jet pack manuevers1 mandalore melee 1 projectiles1 heavy weapons????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

mandalore soldier

jet pack tree defenses like advance/retreat moves, strafe

melee tree take from current system or develop new specials

explosives tree warrior can craft their own saber darts, missile, warheads, wrist rockets

ranged trees a;;ows one to specialize in desired weapon of choice

with mods all up and down the trees, ....SABER EVASION at master mandalore warrior not mitigation

the mandalore soldier will be able to craft his own mandalore armor but the best armor would be crafted at master level.

this discussion is for those who do not want to become jedi but some other equally powerful character purely for balance mandalore/jedi

would be evened out to make interesting gameplay.
