Since garvin's topic post is for general ideas....well lets just say I went from general to quest.....specifically, Profession Quests...and I want to go in depth in order not to clutter the general ideas (or make anyone jealous hehe)

Master Commando Profession-Specific Quest #1

Neutral Commando Mission

Your Assignment:

CorSec Division of Special Operations (CDSO)

To: Commando

A renegade scientist has captured a CorSec Military Outpost, and is using it to reinforce his base of operations somewhere on Corellia. We have recieved a threat from the scientist in question, he demands to be paid a large ransom or destroy Centerpoint Station with a top Secret, and highly illegal Particle Cannon. CorSec forces are useless, as he will blow the station if we make any attempt to try and take him out. We need a commando mercenary - you - to infiltrate his base and take him out before he destroys innocent life. If you choose to accept this mission, the coordinates of the captured Corsec base will be relayed to your datapad. Good luck! Corellia's counting on you.

End Tranmission

Items Recieved:

Demo Charges

Mission Walkthrough:

1) From the terminal, a waypoint pops up 5,000 meters from Kor Vella...the Corsec base is in the middle of the wild, very remote. You flip off the datapad and mount your speeder, heading towards your target.

2) You reach the Corsec base, and with a view finder you survey the base. A Bunker next to what appears to be a large hanger with blast doors, a watch tower stands 20-30 meters from the bunker's entrance. Walls enclose the compound, and two small Corsec turrets guard the entrance. Around 20-30 guards patrol the inside compound, the inside wall area, as well as the entrance and outer perimeter. A Tank along with 10 guards are guarding the entrance, sitting tight while the rest of the perimeter defense patrol. The entire base is rather large, providing ample room to infiltrate covertly.

3) Everything is destroyable - except the hanger doors, you have several options:

A. Destroy a wall and sneak in

B. Assault the Base head on (the heavily guarded entrance...suicide)

C. Take out the patrols and enter the back way

[Note: There is a marked NPC who, if you aggro...will run to the watch tower and raise an alarm to the Main Base....he must either be eliminated first, or as you escape in the cross fire.]

4) If you chose the head on assault....you won't have any problem with this part. If you chose to enter covertly, you pass the hanger. (Several tanks are powered down, but one can be commandeered, but you need the access codes from the bunker) You need to enter the bunker and get the access codes to the Tank in the hanger. Its in a terminal on the lowest level, and you must fight your way down. Inside the base's computer, you'll also nab the main base's coordinates. Also inside, you'll be able to set a self destruct on the turrets, also taking care of the entrance guards/tank.

Once you have the code, enter the hanger and enter the tank (If you exit...you will be alerted, as you cannot reenter...also now you have an hour to find the Main Base and destroy it). Before you leave the corsec base, destroy all enemies.

5) The main base is literally huge. While inside the tank (group members can take the ride as well) none of the base guards/turrets will aggro you, and you'll be able to not only access the base (closed off by non-destructable walls/door). If you engage in PvP with the tank or get out of the tank, the mission fails. Any group members that get out of the tank...will remain friendly to the base guards (but cannot re-enter tank) unless if you attack or they attack. Use the tank to infiltrate the base, you have two options now:

A) Raise hell with it (starts a timer when the Particle Cannon will fire and destroy centerpoint)...or get out of the tank, and infiltrate the inside of the base.

B) Whichever you choose, you must get inside the base's bunker and plant the demolition charges in the generator room. You will have to fight the Scientist as a Boss NPC before you can do so. During the fight he starts a 15 minute timer until the weapon fires. You have this time to plant the charge on the generator. Can set either for 15 or 30 seconds...but you must be outside of the room, or you'll die.

C) Eliminate the opposition and make your escape, if you haven't already. If you infiltrated, you'll have to fight around 30-50 Guards, as well as several tanks. Again, there is a terminal inside the base's bunker which will allow you to disable the turrets on the surface. Also, theres another terminal which will disable the tanks as well. Both are optional, both if triggered...will take out some of the NPC's in the base as they will explode.

Difficulty: Gung ho....alone is suicide....very VERY hard due to Turrets, Tanks, and the sheer numbers. Especially at the main base...if you choose this, you'll kick butt (unless if your's is kicked first). If you choose to infiltrate, it'll be easier as you'll be able to take out the heavier weapons/vehicles as well as some of the NPC's. You'll still have to fight the boss, as well as the other NPCs and escape. When the generator is destroyed, you'll recieve a confirmation on mission complete and Corsec wiring you your reward.

Edit: What devs prolly need to do to get this implented below....also if you have any in-depth quests for commando, please post. This changed from simply a mission thread to support garvin's to a thread for Profession-Quests and wanting them implented...where Mastered Professions can partake in an interesting, continious and interactive quest that tells a story. Its not like the themepark quests that have you "go fetch and return", or a large scale dungeon....its much bigger than a mission....but much smaller than a dungeon.

Faction Based - Imperial/Rebel - Commando Mission #2

Faction Perk...both GCW Factions get a small permenant Base somewhere on one of the planets. Similiar to COA3 were Leia is on Dathomir....the base will contain, and forever contain current and future Profession Quests that are faction based. (basically another Themepark for both sides, but involving profession-specific quests)

Your Assignment:

Mon Mothma

To: Commando

Greetings fellow Alliance Member! We have need of your assistance again friend. A large Imperial convoy has recently been reported to have landed somewhere on Lok, its destination is the local Imperial Base. We must not allow the Empire to be able to use the vital supplies that this convoy carry. You must intercept the Imperials and claim the supplies in the name of the Alliance. By doing so we will be able to reinforce the local Rebel cell on Lok while dealing a blow to the Empire! Do you accept this mission friend?

End Transmission

Mission Walkthrough:

1) Once you accept the mission, you will recieve a wp on Lok (or whichever destination planet). This is the Imperial Comm station, which you must first capture and download the coordinates of the convoy.

2) The Comm station is similar to the COA mission where you had to send the message to the doctor. Exactly like it, eliminate the guards, unlock the door, download the coordinates.

3) The Convoy will be constantly moving and you'll have 20 minutes to intercept it and destroy it.

4) The Convoy will consist of 4 heavily armoured transports, 2 speeder escorts and a contingent of Stormtroopers (24).

5) Destroy the convoy fully, loot the transports to acquire the 4 containers of vital supplies.

6) Head back to the Quest Outpost, deliver the supplies to the mission giver. Recieve a large amount of FP, a Faction Reward, and a Badge.

For Imperials...basically the same thing, with Imperial touch...same type transports, same speeder escort, 34 rebel commandos/troopers. Also if needed, at the Comm station the devs can have it that you sent an order to the convoy to stop for an inspection, and have a time limit until they get wise to you and flee. This would make it a static spawn, and make it easier to handle heh.

This would be a fun little quest, as you'll get a substantial FP reward, as well as possibly keep some of the vital supplies as loot (decorations) as well get a special Faction reward! Of the 2 missions thus far, this would be the easiest one to implent...as well as establish a Quest Outpost which will provide the two factions (or even have Jabba or Criminal Quest Outposts too) with Mastered profession quests, that can easily be updated in future publishes. Basically, an adding of a new themepark, that is updated, more involved, and give an incentive to master professions, do their quests, use their skills, and gain badges/rewards.

The first one sounds awesome, but (and I'm not trying to be negative here), it's probably on too grand a scale. After all, it's about half the size of some themeparks. Otherwise, it's sounds great.

Oh I know...its ment to be that way...btw i forgot to add in some things:

-a New Feature...each Publish could bring us "mini-content" quests...specific professions. Maybe 1-2 new big ones such as this, that will give you a badge + cash, and other randomly generated scenarios on Corellia or other planets for some fun and big cash.

-This would need 3 things: 1) New vehicles...as well as them being PC drive-cable 2) New Types of Turrets (non faction ones, weaker prolly too) and 3) Some coding and new artwork....such as the hanger, the tank artwork, the NPC who would alert the main base, as well as the Blast Doors part (the walls are already in, as well as bunker and watch tower)

Alot of people have pushed for Profession-Specific Quests....we need to keep pushing it, large quests that resemble the content of the themeparks, but only when you Mastered a Profession...you'd be using that profession's skills and weapons to complete the mission. Every publish 1-2 quests per profession could be added....we wouldnt see anything like this still after JTL/GCW/CR however...

But large quests that keep the player involved and interested are needed, dungeons and themepark (go here, get the item, come back, go there and destroy the ST, come back...etc) type quests get old and repative. Dungeons being as they are huge undertakings and only are a few...the themeparks being they aren't all that interesting nor take much involvement.

shoot dude, i wish i had checked this folder first. i just typed in a really generic template into the mission 4 thread.

it actually comes out a little smaller than yours, scale wise, but tke a look, see what you think, and run with it. you can probably turn this stuff into something garvin can present to the DEVs (if would do any good.)

my 2 creds: some stuff you need to consider: when you start an assault the key to success is keeping up the momentum. so any situation where you would destroy then sneak are not viable in this situation. this is everythnig from breaching an entryway and trying to sneak in, to starting a frontal assault (also called a breach) and the having to sit and try to figure out some kind of door code. keep the methods seporate. a covert infiltrator might sneak in through a sewer access, secure the access codes, and move through the less traveled or less secure areas to reach his goal. an assault is going to breach the outer wall, blow the doors kill EVERYONE, and seize the goods. another thing you might consider, especially in a group situation like this one, is incorperating suppression and fire control. for an escapade of this size, split your group, have one half lay down some rocket fire or assault rifle, while the other team uses some det charges to make and secure the breach. upon securing, the breach team provides cover for the supression team to move up and secure a foothold in the complex.

either way, it might be better to start smaller, as the DEVs will be more inclined to do what takes the least amount of effort.

then again, if the DEVs like the idea, they might run with it, and in that case ask for all you can.

email me if you need writing support- id love to help.

Thanks, Ive sent the link to this as well as my idea for a Quest Outpost to Pex just now....also, these quests I wouldn't say are fully in detail...as Im just skimming over the details on where to go and such.

You'd need a way to implent these ideas, as well as making it fit in SWG. Giving the player a choice of how they'll go about would be a really cool feature. Already its been done in places such as the Corvette (need tactics to win that place)

We need serious in-depth quests, and what better way than to implent ones for specific professions? And better yet? making a Quest Outpost where more can be added, and a central area of meeting.

Edit: Also both ideas are from my much broader and smaller ideas from the garvin post too

Just evolved into..this heh..an idea for a new type of themepark similiar to the FS Village

well, do you remember when they said they were going to do a major publish every 2 weeks and an minipub in between? and then they cut it down to a month? i think thats where they slipped.

this is what should be happening: some creative team needs to be comming up with new ideas that function on just about the scale of your first idea, and throwing them in as the mini publishes. call them dungeons, call them what you will, but really start filling the planets up with little places to go and do some adventuring. i think a few of the POIs were supposed to be like that, but a cave full of aqualish soldiers rushing at you is really dull and repetative. if they gradually phased this kind of stuff in as replacement locations we might be able to get away with it.

my other gripe that goes well with this one: the planets are getting a bit crowded. would it really be that hard to add a few more systems for us to visit and play around on? i cant imagine it would be that hard, and i know they have the spare cash to cover the necessary hardware. in the meantime, the -ahm- backwater planet of naboo is starting to resemble coruscant. but you know where im comming from.

Well actually 6 weeks, with a mini pub every 2 weeks.

And the slip up really occured when they couldn't do the Monthly Story..and the 3 month Story Arc...that was because they couldn't keep up with that, bug fixes, AND content in the form of dungeons. After JTL...then CR/GCW and other revamps....we would definately see stuff like this id suspect....

either way, i think they should drop all this current crap, and get back on the old wagon.

i like the whole JTL idea, but they have serious game issues to fix before they release that stuff.

they should do the honorable thing and fix their mess.

I've always thought the same thing myself. Nice ideas, and good presentation of them.

I'd really like to see some more profession-specific quest types available with their own flavors, such as this one.

Ok guys...ill be brainstorming some more ideas, as these 2 past days were my day off and I wanted to write (so ideas come forth!)

Also please post your ideas of in-depth profession quests here too rather than just commenting (make sure its an easy to read format, and basically covers the entire quest)
