Commandos should have the armor that the republic clone "Advanced Recon Commandos" used in the animated CLONE WARS. Think an almost mandalorian armor looking helmet with speederbike trooper from the Return of the Jedi forest chase body armor.

Real cool looking, unique, has precedence with the SW continuity. From starwars.com they are described:

"The clone troopers of the Galactic Republic exhibited exacting uniformity in skill and appearance, but a few were designed to stand apart from the masses. The ultimate in the clone trooper ranks were the Advanced Recon Commandos, or ARC troopers, elite infantry hand-trained by Jango Fett.

Only a select number of ARC troopers were bred and trained before Fett's untimely demise at the Battle of Geonosis, and they were used sparingly during the Clone Wars. At the Battle of Kamino, Prime Minister Lama Su personally activated the ARC troopers to defend Tipoca City from Separatist attack. They have also served in campaigns on Muunilinst, Jabiim and Pengalan IV.

ARC troopers were used for only the most dangerous missions that require a substantial amount of independent thought. Though these troopers undergo growth acceleration like the standard clones, their docility and independence has not been at all altered.

ARC troopers employ an advanced version of the clone trooper armor, and carry heavier weaponry or mission-specific gear such as reverse-polarity pulse grenades or PLEX-1 portable missile launchers."

Make this armor be certified at MASTER COMMANDO only, and be no harder to make than composite is (the master requirement itself keeps it from being common and easy for the masses to acquire).

Make the armor be AR1, have special protect in kinetic and blast of 70%, average resist of 40% (just like the average composite resist out there is 75%) in energy, electricity,heat and stun and be vulnerable to cold, acid and lightsaber.

Either that or have it as a loot piece for Commando's, just like how Bounty Hunters have the Bounty Hunter Armor, maybe make it so you can use the ARC trooper armor as well in the Mandalorian armor process.

I made a suggestion about having Commando specific armor for us and probably Squad Leaders to.

Basically, it was clonetrooper armor with a skirt or poncho (depending on environment conditions) over the standard armor the usual grunts had to wear. It may not seem like that big a difference, but it did convey a lot more resect for certain characters just from that distinguishing factor - it kinda set them apart, and even though for all intents and purposes it was the same armor, it let the world know - don't mess with us.

Hehe, I still would love to get a MP/MCommando once dual-wield is implemented and go akimbo like the ARC squad commando leader.

Or have it for differnet factions, like the imperial commandos have the Dark Trooper armor (which is supposed to be black) and the rebels can have the old arc trooper armor.

Actually, the Royal Guards are Pikeman, so if the dress and everything gets introduced, it would be the Pikeman who get it.

some people are making the mistake that clonetrooper armor or versions of it, if it ever was to be issued it should be rebel. If any it would be imperial
