I just have a question, why does combat medic have to take 29 more skill pts than a doctor. I want to be a master tka and a master combat medic( would be nice because i have to melee my enemy so i would be nice if i could also heal my ranged friends with out having to run back and forth the whole time.) It would be extremely nice if there was some way to make it so brawlers could have enough skill pts to be master combat medics. ( I have plenty to be a master doctor and then some, it almost seems like doctor is favored alittle bit more). Thx

Combat medic is a ranged profession. All of our unique abilities (with the exception of the ill-concieved mind heal) are done at range. CM's do have many abilities that doctors don't (poison/disease, AOE and ranged heals, etc.) The investment in the ranged support line makes sense, as that is how our ranged abilities are justified. You aren't the first to post about wanting to combine CM and TKA. You have to remember that even though the devs vision of where CMs fit in combat is unclear, one thing that is clear is that we are a ranged profession.

/agree I was dreading giving up master heavy swordsman as my skill points got low....but I am seeing that it is great to dabble. However I have been a melee'r for my whole time in galaxies and wanted to try something new. Right now I am going for master medic and doctor 0/0/4/0 and will by my enhance packs and stuff. That leaves me with skill points left over. I am sure you can do the same with TKA

You'll need doctor 0/2/4/0 to buff yourself with enhance D's. To buff effectively you need 0/4/4/0. At 0/0/4/0 you'd have 90 med use, but you wouldn't have the ability to buff, you need the /healenhance command (advanced wound treatment) and getting master wound treatment would give you a higher wound treatment mod (factors into buff results).

No, but you want to Master both if you want to be PvP effective or at least Master Doctor. Without the ability to cure poison and disease will debilitate you in massive combat or even single PvP.

Depends on how you PVP, there are plenty of ways to counter a CM. Too bad for non-CMs the best way to find them out is to play a CM yourself...
