Thread: Why do Combat medics need ranged weapons support

The point of a combat medic is support right. Where does it ever say how he should support his compatriots. It seems to me that any 4 combat skill in the brawler or marksmen profession should meet this need.I am a tk and I do not want any marksmen skills. I recently became a cm and now need them to qualify for novice cm. This is in my opiniona waste of 29 skill points. Why cant the cm support his group with any kind of weapon. Why is he forced to have marksmen. I do not find this fair. As a tk I would like to be able to use my unarmed 4 skill as passage into the cm tree. then it will still be a hybrid profession but not favoring the players that use ranged weapons and have cm. I hope you will all post your opinions and tell me if you think this change should or could be implemented in the future.

as pointed out here, the concept is being able to aim your throws propperly. this is why we have to take ranges support, and not a specific ranged weapon. it implies that a combat medic has taken the time to learn about range, trajectory, windage and the like.


believe me, i want nothing more than to master both TKA and CM. in fact if it were possible, i would have stopped my holo-grinding and just kept my character as it would be ideal, even more enjoyable (in my view) than a Jedi character. but i DO understand why we have to take it...i just don't LIKE it.


wanna know the REAL kicker to me? you CANmaster Teris Kasi, Smuggler, and Pistoleer all at the same time, but you cannot master Teris Kasi and Combat Medic at the same time

i would just like to have both master titles, and both master skills. i will not start a potition to get it done. i will not go on a hunger strike. i will do nothing in fact, but play the game and wish i could have both

i wanna master cm and ch but i think it kinda stnks we cant i also want to master ch and commando bu that would make me the ultimate pve player sooo... no to commando and ch but i understand master ch+cm or even tkm+mcm
