i dont see why not.. you jumped on the rifleman/cm bandwagon just fine........
it's not just him, it's a guild thing. They are cool nieghbours though.
As for your post, Ecthillion, I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic and trolling, or being serious. Assuming you were serious though, I'm not sure I agree with you. I am not sure there has been an official statement about rifleman being nerfed more or less than pistoleers or carbineers (and every other combat class) in the revamp. Furthermore, assuming that rifleman is reduced in power relative to other professions, this is not to say it is no longer a valid PvP combination. Assume for a second that rifles are twice as strong as pistols and carbines. If rifles are reduced in power by 1/3, they would be nerfed but still the 'best' profession.
I would say just wait for the revamp, and pick which professions you find fun to play. If they happen to be the 'best combination' so be it. If not, well, at least you are having fun. Any speculation now about how things will be after the revamp are just that, speculation.

There are many flaws in this argument you pose Ecthillion. To begin, rifleman has always been countered since sliced bread and SWG spice. No rifleman I have recently dueled or encountered in PvP combat has incapped my melee character on Eclipse by mind hitting, making every attempt to knock my character down, or much else. What is true underlines the fact that the days of Riflemen were always at an end. In my oberservation with 5 characters on 5 servers, two of which are melee PvP dedicated and one with complete temlate, the up and coming Rifleman nerf will not mean much to me since I find Rifleman tactics so mundane, so blase, so bour·geois anyway. Simply running the offender down and commencing with the proverbial stun baton means new tactics have to come aboard to pilot Rifleman combat. Mind bleed does not do much either because of the mind boosts PvPers are getting these days.
The existing mind boosts and combinations are making the days of Combat Medics short indeed as well although that profession remains under the shadow of developer wings. This, of course, means their profession will remain securely unchanged . The developers continue to persist the notion that tactics have to be revised to eliminate CMs. I for one do not "fear" a Combat Medic and rather mock them for their weak tactics. I have witnessed many get owned. The CM/Rifleman combination has no affect on PvP characters with 3000+ worth of mind. My Eclipse character standing in line for a buff dealt with a CM harshly who tried to gimphim. My character had no enhancements, no mind boost and I incapped after knocking this creature to the floor while my buddy finished him off.
If you think pawning templates and going to melee will help you instead of formulating your own strategy, you are in much worse shape. Just becuase Swordsman can hit mind doesn't mean u can incap players in PvP. Worse yet, your refernce to Warcrying someone to death is even more a clear indication you need to strategize. Warcry slows the target down -- that is all. With speed sliced weapons, speed tapes (my Eclipse character has 2 hand speed and Warcry tapes on his smock), melee speed bonuses, You won't slow any target down sufficiently not to have you kiss the ground.
Stacking templates, pawning, etc. are all weak tactics at best especially the dizzy/knockdown trolls. These tactics are successfully countered on the battlefield everyday and it seems more are interested in trying to find "what works" instead of doing what is best. Nightsister lances are good, have quite an effect over time on an unbuffed player. Unfortunately, on an enhanced player you may as well spam /slap. Think a power hammer will help you take mind down, laughable. High stun, hugh blast resist helmets are all anyone needs these days.
I have a Doctor / Apprentice CM character on Bloodfin and I relish the day I can employ appropriate tactics and strategy to get around the enhancements players have. For that matter any of my PvP characters to formulate appropriate responses to CMs/Rifleman, etc.
You know? EVERYTHING will be nerfed. ALL professions. Even the damn jedi are getting nerfed. Why would you single one profession out as being nerfed?
ALL OF THEM ARE BEING NERFED AND FIXED. Whether they're overpowered or not, and rifleman definately is not overpowered. The jawa blows, if it wasn't for the borked armor and ham system they wouldn't do jack, and you know it. If it was health that was unhealable it would be pistoleers and fencers that rule the day.
Ka-jun, as you have no clue who i am or what i have done in the past i will have defend myself on that bandwagon comment. First off, when i started the game in october of 2k3, i was going for commando/ch 3303 to have 3 grauls and 1 flamethrower, lol i know. But i soon realized that commando was nerfed to 25% of their damage in pvp. and soon after i reached 3303 ch, but at that point, not 2 days later, it was revamped as well, shucks. I then dropped ch, and kept master commando. I combined it with pistoleer but that sucked since it was pre geo cave release. Combining it with tkm was unsuccessful, and i contemplated cm... but then i found a LP with 400max at 1.8, so i thought i would give commando 1 last try and design a template around that LP. I dropped commando to novice, and it hurt me deep inside. I then ground out smuggler 0040, and mastered pistoleer again, but this time i mastered pistoleer and the extra 4 boxes of smuggler in 22 strait hours of play, lol, POWER GRIND! I still wear the (rogue) tag to this day even though i am master cm/master rifle. At any rate without even ever hearing of concept for the geo stun pistol at that time. I decided after many deaths in pvp that my LP wasnt eanough to survive in the GCW which is the only reason i play, *cough* takedowns and raids *cough*, i decided to finally drop commando all the way and start a whole new style of tactics, the only skills that remain from that era of fire are marksman 4004. Ma i wanted to get commando to work... /sigh.
As i examined cm and how to fully utilize its potential i came to 3 possibilities. Doctor, yuck, i never enjoyed a behind the scene style of play. Swordsman, good for pve definatly! butpvp? And then there is rifleman... we all see it, pb and j for a base raiding scenario. Sit back let others engage, take 15-20 seconds to poison as many as are in range, note no disease. I use mind action and health c's. Then i would engage in battle keeping an eye on the ham of my teammates. pretty good tactics... for a start. There are 2 scenarios that i will disease. 1, we are outnibbered while protecting a base at <FF>. 2, I have been shown great undue disrespect from u in the past, aka I owe u one. If you need proof of my word ask Mono, he can attest that i didn't disease him and rokko(dark jedi), and if i disease, don't u think Rokko would get it as soon as he was in range? Nope, turns out as rokko finishes off budz ,my teammate, he is low on mind, and so i start hitting his mind. All while taking flak from mono at the same time. He force runs to save his skin, as we all would. But when he goes out of range, it causes a bug in my pc that makes it so i can't target anyone but out of range rokko, and i can't move. Happens to me more often than i would like, but oh well. I unequipped my weapon and got a target on mono by clicking on him and i poisoned him, but i still couldn't move. Yet again, no disease. It took mono a bit to finally finish me off. But i was bugged and could only watch. /pout. I should have chased down rokko and finished his no mind with a db, and then taken care of mono. I was the most fun i have ever had in this game I am prouder of that death than any kill i have ever gotten. I also upgraded my video card and purchased more ram to avoid that from happening in the future, lol. I believe this whole incedent happened in crimson stronghold, but it may have been in avatar city, since changed to avatar metropolis. But i digress, i don't disease. And i am not a bandwagoneer. Yes i took that remark personally and i am sorry i lashed out, but i needed to get it off of my chest because i hear it all to much from order, av, and a few other people who just have no clue how a rogue just poisoned them or who i am. Which i usually ignore, but senceless flaming, in a post that seeks guidance from players on a subject is quite unnexceptable. I just want to know if i should try to keep cm and apply my second choice, swordsman. Again apply this to a raid/takedown scenario. I think that if you ain't got any knowledge on the subject, keep your mouth shut!
As far as the idea that all are getting nerfed equaly. I was chatting with somone who attended the fan fest, and their discussion of rifle was interesting. Speeds are going to be slowed down, and some specials are only going to apply to a prone, and perhaps covered state. This would negate my reason to go into battle and affirm my dislike of the support player. Again all of this is based on how i like to play and the scenario that i like to play the most of. I don't seek any best in pvp award, no. I try to be the best teammate to call in for backup on a base takedown. Comando didn't work, cm/rifleman does. Plain and simple.
Now as far as melee peons, all you fools can watch me run up a hill and destroy you mind with a mpb, and c. Then master headshot 6 times and a heal for me in a macro. Done deal, have a nice day, /kowtow. And if you win, good show, /salute. That is how i play, that is the element i bring to the game. **edit** for tat. you are a cool mofo, i am a cool mofo, we can chill overt in our cantina. Long after the duels end of cource, but again honorable. This is what <FF> stands for, not just my philosophy. Of cource there are those in the group that fight dirty, and we can only send out so many e-mails about our rules of engagment, but we do try. Just don't judge us all because of 1 little boys actions. Likewise i don't cast a blanket of hate across all of <TR> because of liquidus' actions, but he get's a disease. Simple.
And by the way, in case I can't get my toon to where i am happy with him on the battle field, I am looking for a Geo stun pistol with 300+ max damage, i will pay 1 million, but we can negotiate depending no condition. Kinda a safty net, cause i still got that LP. Then the battlefield would be like a blast from the past for me, lol. Did I just say commando?...

P.S. I am sorry to all who actually read this whole rant... I just had to defend my honor. Again, my bad.

Some of us CMs have been CMs with rifles or pistols for a long time and DON'T want to PvP ever. However, if we wish to participate in the GCW as a Rebel then we are forced into PvP.
It's pretty clear that the ONLY combat class that combines with CM and has decent offensive power is rifleman. I was a master pistoleer for a while but even with Stopping Shot and a good pistol you just don't have Stopping Power vs. MOBs.
This is one CM that didn't want to use his CM/Rifleman combination against other players but since the Imps insist....
