Disclaimer- I am not trying to holo grind. CM will be part of my template for a long time if it is as fun as I think it is.

I just reached Novice today and am wondering how it's any better than Master Medic. Exactly what ability have I gained so far that sets me apart from MM? I am trying to buy some ranged stims and poisons but they all require too much CM use for me atm.

Do I have to keep grinding in the med centers/cantinas or can I actually play as a CM now? If so, any recommendations on what to start out with supplywise?

(Yes, I read the FAQ but all it says about this is to use poisons once I get enough skill. According to my skill box I have /applypoison but even the A's I'm looking at require like 51 CM use.)

I'm pretty sure I'm missing something (that would be nothing new). Could someone clue me in please?

You're still going to have to grind out a bit more med xp to climb the Support Branch. It will give you the Combat Medicine Use skill mods and allow you to actually use some CM items.

Only thing you got with Novice CM was /applypoison and the Novice CM Title.

Once you reach Master CM Support, you can use any poisons, diseases, and stims, with the exception of the Ranged Stimpack E, the Area Poison C packs, and the Area Disease B, C packs. Please note that youa lso need Advanced Ranged Healing Distance to learn the /applydisease command to actually "use" the diseases.

I think you can use a Ranged Stimpack A (which is worthless) at novice CM, and maybe a highly advanced single-target Poison...but you'll be much better off simply using your normal stims in the med center for a few more boxes.

Once you get Master CM Support, the profession becomes much better.

That's what I was starting to realize. Thanks for the reply.
