Thread: not a nerf call :)

would cm's agree that much of what the problem is the lack of the 75% dmg reduction in pvp?
i have heard the arguement that cm's wont do enough dmg if they are affected by the 75%.
i have heard the arguement that states that a cm can only do 200 dps with thier poisons.
-but doing 200dps to 20-30 peeps at once is unequaled in swg.
my opinion is that cm is a support class. hence the ranged healing. the mind heal ability.
surely most of you dont believe that your class should be more effective then all the other combat classes.
now, if the bugs are fixed (asuming that throwing stuff at 100m is a bug, has happend to me before) then the class will be a bit more balanced.
the arguement is with a 75% damage reduction poison will do 0 damage.... it does not matter if you hit a 1000 ppl at the same time you'll still do 0 damage to every single person, you can notapply a 75% reduction simply because of a loot drop like spider venom (which has already been nerfed)
I was fully buffed and was poisoned by some 50K ham Spider in the nightspider clan cave for about 150 per tick.... I was able to renegerate that damage quicker than the poison could damage me.

Exactly, ever hunted spiders while buffed?
Endor had really megasweet insect meat on gorath a while back. So I and my architect buddy went there for a small hunting trip. (He was the only one of my PA avaiable)
We buffed thoroughly and even though the spiders conned red and poisoned us at every opportunity we never took any damage. Once in a while we would get a head hit and would have to drink a glass of aitha, that was it.
Now, imagine reducing poison damage by 75% in PvP. I lob my best area poison on a large group of 1000 persons stupidly grouped in what in military language is known as a cluster**edit** (cluster up together like that and you're **edit**ed) and do 750 per tick. (wich is fair for a non-legendary poison i believe) divide by 10 for a 75 DPS multiply by 0.25 for a staggering DPS of 18.
Ok, from a strict (idiotic) mathematical perspectiveI will do 18000 DPS. Wow, 18k! Surely Combat Medics rock! But it won't even register on anyones HAM-bar. Now if the damage is regenerated faster than it is dealt. Is it then dealt?
We can do the same maths with a average poison that ticks for somewhere around 500. Or for a truly uberlegendary spider venom that migth tick for 1500. The result will undoubtedly be the same.
Now, can you look a Combat Medic straight in the face and claim that he should do no damage at all?
Without giggeling?

I am not a support class. I am a chemical warfare expert. I am a bio-warrior. I am a zerg-stopper. I am a Master CM. Run for your life....

The biggest issues for me are the ability to throw poisons some 100m, then effect players a further 30m away or in buildings. Cut this down to 40m maximum with a 24m AOE.
Also I believe that docs should be able to cure all poisons or diseases in one hit with maximum experimentation and the best resources. Not the area cure they are talking about, but a one hit single cure. It might be good if they require a combat medic to craft or make a schematic for part of the cure too.
hehehe Rav was not much fun against 3 CMs last night ! was damn nightmare! lagged cureposion/dis my fingers were numb at the end of it ![]()
I take it as challenge to defeat CMs myself but then Im a doc i can activly counter them just, I do agree tho the 65+m chuck is a bit silly as has been said many times before. But its a challenge trying to counter it thats for sure. Does strike me an odd tactic to NOT DB someone in a battle to win tho, you dont have to bother with all the other profs as they cant dish out as much pain as a wicked CM.
But bless em we love em and at least it makes me being a Doc more than a buff bot ![]()
I present to you the ultimate ubertemplate:
Master Doc, Master Rifleman.
This unstoppable incapdealer will not be the least affected by poisons nor diseases. He will buff himself, (And get decent mindbuffs along with Brandy and Moun if he wants to be successfull)
On the battlefield his aim is but one. Seek out the combat medics and incap them. Headshot them and place mindbleeds on them. Keep them lying on the ground for as long as possible unable to toss poisons. Never again shall you need to fear. Only one of these bad boys on your team can keep multiple Combat medics at bay.
Problem solved. Now go cry somewhere else.
