Thread: Would 75% poison/diease reduction stop the cry for nerfs??

Ok ive been a cm now for over 6 months


And im starting to think that everyone who wants us nerfed by 75% still wont be happy untill poison/diease is removed from the game.


with venom being introduced on servers at 75% poisons will still hit for 300+ at 75% reduction and normals 170+.


Will people still moan at getting hit for 170 mind hit pool every 8 secs.


I would still say yes as they will complain that they havent been a doc and still will inevitably have 1 mind same as diease as there is no defense to really stopping the poison.


We spend so many points on getting to master that we have room for one more reasonable proffesion.

As soon as the defesne stacking hits live publish the influx of CMS are going to be tenfold



I can see (slot proffession here)/cm


As this undoubtably will be the uberist proffesion along side


(insert proffession here)/master doc


I also wonder if they removed area poisons would it be a good idea???

I personally do not use them as it just ruins pvp imho

Would that also help the nerf cries go away????


Or will people not be happy untill we are a stim pack healer only and have to spend140+ points on them??

Can't assume all CMs have access to spider poison, and use that as argument for a nerf. It's bad enough that 4 out of 6 resources we need for our components are extremely rare. Let's not make us dependant on loot from an über camped cave too.

You are comparing apples and oranges, one cannot base a reduction on a rare looted item.

You need to base your arguement on factory run mass produced items not one offs.

Every time I log to forums I see somebody whining about something. No matter what profession you nerf they will just find something else to whine about.


As for resources, I'm still hunting for resources to craft my own poisons. I need a couple more, it's a long road to travel.

As I've always said, raise the damage of poisons so they're competive in PvE, and then just add the 75% damage reduction like everything else. This would please me completely. I think the AE of CM is enough to enforce good medical staff in a group, but the AE and full damage(without reduction)is too much for a doctor to handle. You need 2:1 docs for every fighting member of a group to handle CM's at the game's current state. People bring a lot of this on themselves. People have cried a river about defense stacking, and once that's no longer a valid strategy, people will have to race to the best offense to be successful in PvP. Unfortunatly right now, the best offense is poison. The influx of CM's will be amazing. Get ready.

Obviously people would stop crying....they'd only be hit with something their incredibly buffed substats could regen faster then it damages them....that soon to be rare spider venom (I heard it's drop rate was already severely nerfed though) would only have a DPS on 30 since it ticks every 10 seconds, The guy with the 2000 willpower won't even feel it, let alone the 3500 constitution and 3500 stamina...and normal poisons nerfed to 17 DPS.... Thus making the entire class worthless.

The nerf calls for CM will not stop until there is nothing better than Class A poison, and Class A disease, with NO area of effect.


I'm pretty confident.

The problem with what you're saying is this...people aren't getting hit 350+ every 8 seconds...there are things that are hitting for 1000+ with new draft schematics. That is just too damn rediculous. I'm sorry but that has to be nerfed.

Seeing a -1000 in blue coming off my head would definitely scare me and piss me off. I'm also going to assume that either you or someone else will be attacking the same person at the same time. -1000 every 8-10 seconds is pretty damn painful. However, that's still not nearly as powerful as a Master Rifleman. Hit 6 times in the head for over 500 each shot in 5 seconds. CMs are very powerful, but not the most powerful out there. If they reduce the damage done by 75% they'd better up the rate it hits a person. Perhaps every 3 seconds instead of every 8. Ya know?

I looted a pair of Spider Venom that was 466 power on the day the cave opened. Thisallowed me to makean AOE poison that does almost 1300 per tick mind damage. The developers blundered when they put something that strong in the game, just like they blundered when they put mind fire in the game.

That loot drop needed to be nerfed, not the profession. The patch notes indicate that they realized their mistake and took action on the spawn rate and power of the loot but I am not sure if they did enough.



As fas as 75% reduction, the nerf herders need to recruit a doctor for their team and quit being crybabies.

That's 100 damage per second, not many classes don't already do that.... and with a 75% nerf That would be nerfed to 250 damage every 10 seconds, which would then be 25 damage a second...LMFAO if you think that's balanced.

I was wearing composite when I was hit by the rifleman. And moving, and a Master Swordsman. I now fear rifleman much more than CM's. /shrug

Using rifleman capablities as an example to defend from CM nerf cries is totaly moot. You can defend against a rifleman, you can't defend against a CM(no the +defense stuff for posion/disease does not work). A rifleman faces not only the defenses that there target gains with their profesion(s) but also the resists of their armour.


And grouping with doctors is also moot. Try being a doc running around curing 5 other people and themselves, chances are most if not all will die.


As far as pvp battles go the side with the most CM's wins no matter what, unless of course they are attacking a group of (any combat prof)/Master Doctors and players should not be forced to go this route to be able to defend against cm's.


Players should be able to defend themselves against posion/disease without going Doctor or Combat Medics should be toned down.
