Hi guys, my wife has decided to take up the CM prof, and i have no idea on how to help her lvl up quickly. She is almost full marksman and is a master medic, so im guessing tonite she will start on CM.

Can ne1 out htere point me to a link, or give a quick run down on what u need to do to lvl up quicker than plugging away in groups for a month.

A list of minerals/organics (rought totals) needed, as i don't know if she would need to grind making stims to lvl up a bar, like with medic.

I know, i will get flamed on this, but she has little patience and I am trying to make this as enjoyable as i can for her.

Hehehe. I would recommend this kind of progression for max fun:

1 - Level up the combat medic support tree first to increase her cm meduse. She can use stim D's to heal the group and apply Poison A's to help in combat (more on that below) to gain medic exp very fast. Don't tumble in place for her, thats not "enjoyable".

2-"Craft" some high quality area stim A's, then B's, and finally at cm use 65 she can use uber C's OR start off with some ranged stim A, B or C as she progress. OR Buy them in no more than 5 count crates at first so you dont get stuck with a whole crate of area A's or B's when you can save up for the heavy healing C's. They are not cheap ( 3 als, 2 abecs, 1 acdrm, metal, organic, inorganic, for the C's and just smaller amounts of components needed for the A and B class area stims)

3-"Craft"some cm use 5 single targeting poisons. Mind, Action, Health or whatever. I find I use any of these depeding on the group im in. For her since she is a full marksman, have her go with the HAM attack that matches with her most useful weapon. Or with the most useful weapon for the group you have at the time. Nice template btw, very versitile since she can also stack all three bleed types or target any HAM directly with a Legshot 2, Headshot 2, or Bodyshot2, attack. She gets medical exp for applying poison/disease.

**For the crafting part, get her a medical droid with the crafting station mod in it. Have her bring a little crafting pack along with her supplies she needs. For A and B its not that many things needed. She can have 1 crate or stackof each of the following: Infection Amps, Resilience Compounds, Dispersal Mechnisms, abecs, acdrms, als, some non ferrous metal like copper or aluminum, some good quality fiberplast, some good quality organic (stims only), then have smaller stacks of Insect meat and Fungus along with a little stack of radio active and liquid petro fuel + 3 food/chem crafting stations = 16 spaces total depending on how many crafting stations shes wants to use and enough to put into a looted cargo pocket for easy sorting. She can make what shes needs when she needs it. For kicks she can bring some low quality tat fiberplast/lokian wheat for shuttle waits when she has no weapons or stims to make to use. Grinding abecs is not enjoyable and isn't something i recommend if you going for FUN, but you get 88 xp each in practice mode and its a fast way to get to the top of the tree.

4- FINALLY HOW TO GET THE EXP - GO OUT AND HUNT WITH A BIG GROUP. Big group can be 3-4 people, but dont hunt picketts or something dumb, go to the ns caves or geno caves, Some place enjoyable. I can tell you right now that a cm healing non stop with area stims during a ns elder battle is one of the most satisfying cm experiences there is. In an enclosed space the area stim A have enough range to heal everyone in one shot. They are taking heavy damage from the NS and she will gain experience very fast.

5-An example of anUNFUN alternative to medical expis healing afk macroers in a cantina. ROFL. SO LAME........

There is a post about powerleveling a bit down. Can't remember the url though. But I'll throw in a few of the standards hints.

A list of minerals/organics (rought totals) needed, as i don't know if she would need to grind making stims to lvl up a bar, like with medic.

Complete list of resources below. For grinding purposes use ABEC's (Tatooinian Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat). If you can get a big supply of grind quality CM resources cheaply Advanced Infection Amplifiers give more XP once you can build them, but they use Tolium Gas and Titanium Aluminum. I recommend sticking with ABEC's grinding CM-crafting doesn't take all that much time.

There are two methods of gaining medical experience for a Combat Medic. Either by healing. That is the standard procedure, either heal damage or wounds. The post on leveling that I mentioned earlier had one poster recommending diseaseing two stats and then using woundpacks to heal them.

The other method used is (well we are COMBAT medics after all) dealing damage. When you apply poison you gain medical XP. The great part is that you gain medical XP regardless if the target has any pool left to loose or not.

So: Buff upp, put on you best armor, go find a lair of really inoffensive little greencons and pull them out of the lair. Then unequip your weapon (or equip a weapon you're not certified for if you are an unarmed sort of person) and poison away. When you can use area poisons you will start to rake in XP in huge ammounts.

Personally I just followed a friend leveling pistoleer around healing him as he was attacking yellow and red con monsters.

Keorythe's Combat Medic powerlevelling guide

Requirements: 1 volunteer, lots of woundpackB's, 1-3 master crafted disease packs for each of the 6 stats you'll be hitting. Basically everything EXCEPT for the mind stats.

Do this preferrably near a cantina as the volunteer will incur a large amount of battlefatigue (but very rarely will they go over the 350mark in one setting)

1) Unequip an weapons you have and move away a short distance from each other to prevent and damage (15-20m is good)

2) /duel you volunteer. Now that he/she is nice and red to you go ahead and apply a disease to each of the 6 stats (hp,action, consti, str, sta, quick, etc etc).

3) /endduel with the volunteer and as a precaution throw a simple stimpack heal to ensure he/she has no injury (white) damage which may cause them to incap when the diseases reach the 0 mark.

4) Proceed to heal the black wounds using your woundpacks. Its usually best to buy more of one type (usually health) since you'll be fighting the duration and using up charges.

Experience for healing a tumbler with a stimB or C is 100exp for ever 250points healed. For healing black wounds its switched and you get 250exp for every 100points of wounds healed. Earning 500+ experience each heal is not uncommon although you're ability to heal wound fast is capped at master medic so it may seem slower than using a tumbler. It is recommended you obtain+25 bioengineeredinjury/wound clothing to help boost your wound healing abilities. This method is guranteed to bethe mostcost effective and perfect for those with tight budgets. This method may also be used to powerlevel a doctor. Using this method can get a person to master medic minus the ap points in a few hours.

You're welcome.

Having a few CH tanks does really help the CM. We don't really shine when it comes to defenses. What will your wife do for the rest of her skill points?

It might be the place to point out that at least one of you should have surveying, preferable at level 4. Getting your friends to survey for you can be a real bother.

And remember that your wife as soon as she earns novice CMwill bea part of "the unholy poisoners brother-/sisterhood" and must rally to our defenses on these here forums whenever required

Really useful post! I started up a second account and am making my character a Doc/CM. Working on Doc first, but this is great advice for the CM part. I've been having my other character tumble for me in my house, but I never even thought of Wounds.

Thanks a ton!

LOL.. unholy sisterhood. I like that.. sounds like a new guild name to me.

With the rest of her points she is gonna work up the commando tree, but i think she worked it out that there is not enough to complete it.

I have a funny story of CM's.. we (imps) were gonna raid a base. I was full of anticipation, as until recently i was a hard working armour smith and did not do much in the way of pvp (none) or killing (had hunters out for my hide). Anyway, we group up, pull pets, phsyc ourselfs up and all start moving out, little did we notice this CM run over the hill and poison the crap out of us.. i had no mind for the whole battle (which lasted no more than 4min for me)

Was fantastic.. can't understand y ppl had you lot so much

That is so unfair! I lost a ton of cash while becoming a CM... I wish I had gone your way

Actually, I didn't do it that way either. I was a master doc first, but made no money at all while leveling CM. In fact, I was too impatient to wait for the 2 master CMs that my guild already had to come online when I was ready to train and ended up paying to train every skill with an NPC trainer. I did get XP by buffing, but I just can't tolerate selling buffs, so only buff my friends and I don't charge them.

Lol. But I have spent A LOT of cash on Stim Bs off the bazaar. Maybe around 200k+. And that's a conservative estimate, too.

CM and doc use the same XP, so if you're getting Doc first, the you can always buff to level CM. If you can stand sitting around buffing people, you'll make money and level CM at the same time.
