It seems that in this game there are some profs which are almost pvp exclusive. Fencer being one, combat medic being another. If Combat Medic were to get better pve damage, wouldnt this be a bit over doing it? Excellent at pve and pvp? and because armor rating does not affect poisons and diseases this would combat medic even better i pve if it got the pve damage increase. anyone agree/disagree?

I have a pure PvE fencer, and I have a pure PvE CM.

I fail to see your point =/

Each Combat profession is able to do decent/good/great damage in PvE as well as PvP(armour/mods notwithstanding). Each one, except Combat Medics. Our offensive skills come in handy for the larger mobs and the longer PvE encounters as a way of 'wearing down' the opponent, but in regular PvE the output is minimal.

And you must remember that, with the Revamp, things will change. There may be resistances added here and there, new items, new skill mods, etc. The game as it is now is not going to be the same after the Revamp. And on a clean slate, where everything is balanced, our PvE damage NEEDS to be looked at and perhaps upped to a point where it's at least Decent for regular PvE.

I personally am fairly happy with the damage I do in PvE combat. But I have different views than most on how combat medics act in PvE, in particular in a group against a hard enemy. (If youare really curious as to my views,I posted a thread a while back about this.)That being said...

The reason whycombat want to do more damage in PvE combat is the same reason Teras Kasi want a non-kinetic type of damage for PvP, why carbineers want a new type of damage gun, and why dancers want more than the ability to heal battle fatigue and give a mind buffs (which food can easily surpass). Simply, they think there is a deficiency inthe class, and are trying to improve it.

I do not really agree with your argument that because we are good in PvP combat (which in and of itself is debatable to some degree, but that's another [troll] thread), we shouldn't be able to be good in PvE combat. Case in point: riflemen, who are very strong in PvP and PvE combat. While I definitely agree that each combat class should have its strengths and weaknesses, but they should all be *useful* to some degree in all venues of combat.

It is exceptionally depressing when fighting a group of 5 mid-upper level enemies in a group (such as storm troopers) whenthe pistoleer and teras kasi have killed 4 of them before your poison ticks twice. (Lots of math has been done, and I believe that a rifleman can easily do ten times the damage of a combat medic in PvE combat.) In fact, when group hunting, I find I do a lot more damage with my limited carbine skill than with my master combat medic skills. Some might say that there is nothing wrong with that, but combat medics view this as an excessive weakness, and want that addressed. It is up to the devs whether or not they agree, but that is the argument.

I will also point out that I am also an almost exclusive PvE combat medic. In fact, I'd go so far as to say a that a majority of non-"flavor of the month" combat medics do a significant portion (if not a majority) of PvE combat, simply by nature of the game. We, much like all classes, do not like being typecasted into a single role or way of being played. Just because you see two combat medics in every base raid doesn't mean there arent dozens of others hunting, harvesting, and otherwise having fun without doing PvP combat. The desire to change PvE game mechanics is an off-shoot of what people spend thein time doing, and thus want to change (hopefully for the better).

Man vortexala you always seem to change my mind about something when I post here. I completely forgot about how different things will be during the combat balance. Maybe its because ive been waiting so long. Now that I thinkabout it, combat medic does not have many other ways to make money at the moment except doing missions, i think. Anyway papi please explain how you have a pure pve fencer? It must be pretty bad in pvp seeing as how fencer damage in pve suckswith only ap0 and a pathetic ap1 weapon. I am master fencer myself, and i dont see how you can do any damage other than to low level mobs.

Fencer+rifleman+cm with buff'scan kill with ease any mob in the game. Fencer with his great defenses tanks for the rifleman, cm uses poison to help the rifleman out, and heal the fencer..
