I currently am a Master Scout working on Master Carbinier and I have Carbine Speacialist and Ranged Weap Support Ability Speacialist on the Marksman Tree. (Ranged Weap Support supposedly being the tree that is the doorway toCM)I've been torn on what to have as my 3rd skill. With the skills I have now would I be able to get into Combat Medic? My novice box is not active. Do I need medic skills first? Help is appreciate.

I am a Master Heavy Swordsman and my guild does not have any medic types in it. I am not interested in crafting meds, but being able to heal and maybe throw a few poisons and diseases around. I have considered adding Master Doc to my template to buff and heal guildies but I like the ranged and area healing in CM. Unfortunately with Sword I cannot master all of CM. So my question is...is it worth only getting a portion of CM? After getting ranged support and master medic I will have 52 skill points left if I did my math right that would leave me 46 points to spend after Novice CM. So with this many skill points left can I still be effective? and where should I put my skill points?

Any help would be appreciated.

There are several other posts about CM dabbling on the first page of the forum, so I would recommend taking a look at that. However, assuming you don't craft, you can pick up 4404 combat medic, which is rather strong. You can expect give or take:

individual poisons:

525 tick damage, 50m

individual diseases:

175 tick damage, 50m

area poisons:

275 tick damage, 50m, 25m area of effect

area diseases:

100 tick damage, 50m, 25m area of effect

All area stims (very dependent on how made).

If you think this is worth it, I'd say give it a shot. Many would argue it is, depending on what you are doing. Others would say "if you can't master, don't bother." I'd say just try it out, I think combat medic is a lot of fun.

By the way, Texxie, I've noticed this question quite a few times. Do you think it is worth it to crunch some numbers for templates and add it to the FAQ?

Hey i havent been any form of CM since before jtl, and i havent heard much speak of it. Is CM now so that you dont need meds like doctor is now? If so, how is the magnitude of the DOTs determined besides SEA's?

Finally, what would be the best professions to compliment it for pvp primarily but all around as well? I was thinking a melee, and then if i had sp left over, where should it go? thinking maybe like fencer for def.

Can anyone help? Im new to how the game is set up now. Thanks!

So i read the CM FAQ's and learned that i dont need meds but enhancers help, but the question about the other combat prof still stands
