Thread: A fix for the CM's
What? Not trying to flame you but its going sound that way.
Don't really understand what you want or need. I don't think you ever used an actual question mark too. You were mostly all over the place. Try using paragraphs to separate your ideas. I hate to be picky but I gave up on reading you post pretty quick.
I would love to hear you idea but please slow down and form it up a bit better.
Hehe, Rolan. I think what he is trying to say is that even though poisons take 8 secs to start up and ticks damage every seconds after that, it does damage too quickly....especially considering that SOE intentionally designed PvP to be fast paced.
I believe his second trolling point was to also point out that doctors need to stay in the med center/ranger camp and make conversation while healing wounds from medpacks that no one is paying for.
And the third point that he mentioned was that CMs should not get Terrain Negotiation...and if they should, they should also have to take Scout->Exploration skills in addition to Ranged Combat Support and mastering Medic just to start Novice Combat Medic.
Lastly, I believe that he would like poisons and diseases to be removed because a Combat Medic is a support class and, while doctors sit around in the med center, CMs tag along with the group so they can enjoy shooting at stuff while we lob expensive heals on em because the chickens run around with their heads cut-off because some mob aggro'd on em and they spammed their specials too much to survive any type of hit.
/sarcasm off
There are a few things I don't agree with in your post RCS,
First would be that doctors belong in the med center. Doctors, by design, are the only profession that can counter our attacks. This alone will force them to be on the battlefield not to mention they are the only profession with a revive ability. Their skills and craftables allow them to excell in a medical center but that should not prohibit them from not being of use anywhere else.
Second would be about terrain negoitation.A combat medic is required to keep in range of their group in order to be of any use. This includes running up and down hills, swimming across lakes, or even climbing the trees on Endor. Terrain negoitation was always in the CM tree, the devs just increased the amount we had to make it usefull.
Your point on doctors not being able to heal during combat may come to be some day. as it stands now, it would be unfair to the healing professions to limit us like this untill we have the option to turn off auto attack. The fact that doctors or any medicinal professional can heal during combat shouldn't bother you anyway since the heal command is queued into the combat queue window, it wont show up, but you have to wait for all the other specials to fire off before the heal will be done.
I have a hard time understanding why you think poisons take effect too quickly. Most of your argument against poisons deals strictly with PvP combat. You stated that our poisons should insure that the enemy should be incapped after the battle even if they win, that is pretty much how it works now. Although there are some changes on TC that may effect this outcome.
The"crazy offensive attacks" we have is the only weapon a lot of combat medics have other than a CDEF. I admit, I solo a bunch, but the reasons I have are valid. Group missions are totaly borked, this effects all CM's across the servers. We have outrageous expenses to cover to make our weapons. I will venture to say that our expences for resources, travel, and harvestor/factorymaintenanceequate to the BH profession, although they get 7k mission payouts and we get jack.
Grouping with others just dosn't pay the bills, there are several combat types i have come across in my ventures on the live servers who would refuse to tip because they are bringing in xp for the young medics to level on. I am sure the same happens during groups and ranged stims are not that cheep to make so the CM is left again to fend on his own to support his profession. Did I mention we havevery fewcraftables to sell, not much money for a CM to gain on the market.
Sorry, your argument just dosn't hold water for me. There may be a better way for CM's, but this is not it.

Didn't really bother to try and understand where RCS37 was comming from, he has no idea what its like to be a MCM, so all his attempts to make valid points were squashed with his first sentence.
RCS37, be a MCM for a month then come back and post
