Thread: CM poison/diseasing from the water? Intended? Exploit? Bug?
I'll answer both questions before I go to bed..
The water issue, it is due to coding limitations currently in the game, a novice medic can use a stim while swimming, a doc can healstate's while swimming, and poisons/diseases are as far as game mechanics goes stims, buff's, etc, the game doesnt tell the difference, all are medical effect's...
About the poison+disease incap... poison alone can only tick you down to 1, same for disease. If a poison ticks you down to 1 mind from your initial 1100, then disease ticks for 300 wounds, you are at -299 , since disease lowers your current stat level the same amount it lowers the base stat(which it must or else it wouldnt actually do any damage to someone with a full stat bar, right?), while poison only affect's the current level. This comes from people not wanting poison to incap. Disease wasn't a big thing in pvp when poison incapped, as you never needed to use disease to get the desired effect..

Not a big deal. Bah.
So exploit is what we are leaning towards? Still haven't gotten an answer. 3 choices.
That depends on what you call an exploit. Something can't be a bug or and exploit, because I think, by definition, an exploit is using anobviousbug to your advantage.
Working as intended.
Remember the Republic Combat Medic Clones in Episode II? Yoda waved them towards the lake there on Geonosis and they dove in, swam to the middle and proceeded to poison/disease incap all those bug guys and battle droids.
I love that movie.
Except the Rodians swam (and walked)real slow compared to larger races. That was a bug even in the movies.
It is only usefull in those rare cases when there is a planet with 64+ meters of swimmable water and there are a lot of overts walking the beach. (And none of them is in turn a combat medic)
So I'd guess that it's not a priority bug.
I've got this one logged, and plan on pestering the devs about it when they get a free moment.
But, as has been said, there are other higher priority issues at the moment, so thosemust take precedence.
