Thread: Diseases and Battle Fatigue

I did some experiments today with diseases, and it appears that the formulas involved with diseases and battle fatigue are:

Real tick damage = base tick damage * (1 + (target battle fatigue / 100))

(Is it just me, or does that formula show up a lot in this game.)

Battle fatigue incurred = base tick damage * .075

In other words, a master combat medic using a 100 effectiveness diseases will do to the target at:

000 BF: 200 wounds, 15 battle fatigue

100 BF: 400 wounds, 15 battle fatigue

200 BF: 600 wounds, 15 battle fatigue

300 BF: 800 wounds, 15 battle fatigue

400 BF: 1000 wounds, 15 battle fatigue

500 BF: 1200 wounds, 15 battle fatigue

As you can see, the damage from battle fatigue very quickly amplifies the wounds you incur. Keep in mind that this was using diseases (as opposed to normal attacks), and was done by a master combat medic. It is possible that the battle fatigue is linked to the base stats of a diseases ignoring the user's combat medic effectiveness. However, it is likely this formula generalizes to the amplification effect of all wounds (although I know there are other ways to incur battle fatigue than simply wounds). It is also likely the calculation to find battle fatigue incurred is based off of the base tick damage (as opposed to disease written strength), although we would need a non-master to confirm that.

Sweet geezus, that explains how a single tick of a health disease I used on someone to help his friend grind medic completly turned black his health bar of over 800. Poor guy must have had over 300 BF.

Interesting info jfang. Never knew to what extent BF could influence diseases. Do you know if there's a similar formula for poisons? I got a sneaky suspicion that might be at the core of most everyone saying poisons tick for well over 1000.

Battle fatigue affects wounds anyhow they are inflicted..

Yet another thing not worth the time to explain to the guy crying because he got diseased for 1099 wounds in 1 tick

I know that a poison will not cause battle fatigue. I also believe that a poison's damage is not affected by battle fatigue, but am not sure.

I just ran a test, and it appears that poison does notinflict battle fatigue, nor is it affected by battle fatigue. It does a constant amount of damage regardless of the battle fatigue the target person has.

I think this stands to reason though.

You see there really is no downtime in this game other than wounds and battlefatigue. If you want to keep defending your base forever and ever, there needs to be something that is going to cause you to have to slow down or the combat would never end. Battle Fatigue and wounds are the tools to accomplish this.

Makes sense to me, but the people that want us nerfed will never listen to reason, to them they want this to be Unreal. Simply get killed and respawn somewhere else on the battle field fully ready for combat. It is these guys that have no concept of Roleplaying and having fun with the downtime of your character.. It is sad really.

Careful you don't become too inflammatory, RhenGordon. We don't want this to turn into (another) flame thread or a nerf-CM thread.

Not allwho feel that combat medics need a nerf are solely concerned with diseases, wounds, and battle fatigue. And to say that they will "never listen to reason" sounds remarkably like what they accuse combat medics of.Be careful you don't simply write them off as people who only want a first person shooter game. Disagreeing is one thing, disregarding is quite another.
