Combat Medic Archive

I was with a group of guildies in the Genosian Lab, one of them being a struggling jedi. We convinced him to come along with us and if there was any trouble (bounty hunters / gankers)we would all of course come to his aid. Sure enough as soon as we get to the first door a group of 5 overts start attacking the jedi...all hell broke loose in that confined space, I moved to the rear and outside of the battle. The overts were concentrating on the jedi, while the rest of my group moved in to stop them. The battle was for the most part evenly matched, although we only had 4 in our party. When everyone got to about half HAM, I dropped an area Poison/Disease on the party...the battle turned quick at that point, the enemy got confused running in and out of the fight, soon enough they started dropping like flies. We left the bodies behind and continued on our course, and all of a sudden I start getting /tells from the overts asking what I was doing? Asking why I poisoned them? Flaming me for attacking them, when all they wanted to do was kill the jedi?

I'm a new MCM, that was my first group pvp battle...Did I do something wrong?, amI missing something here?
