I'm on my way to mastering cm (2243 so far), but my money is going fast. All the money i earned from joining hunting parties and generous tips is depleting as fast as i can just about make it. I'm thinking about building up my doctor's crafting skills and hope to make money by eventually selling stims and enhancements to people, but that's still up in the air. Do other cm's rely on other cm's for making poisons and disease pacs? I'm simultaneously working on pistoleers skills (1032 so far), but I'm at my best supporting others with meds and firepower versus going on missions by myself. Don't get me wrong I love being a cm. We have flashy ranged stims, poisons, and diseases and what not. People oooo and awww when i throw them even if they dont work, but whatcan i do to make a decent living as a cm?

well crafting in doc tree isnt as good until you are master and have the good resources... I get my money from doing solo missions but im a tkm/cm so... Not sure how about you might get your money just continue running group missions. What seems to be eating your money up in cm?

The short story is:

You don't make money as a CM.

Of course, if you get the best resources (and preferably at least +10 experimentation) you can sell combat meds to other CM's and generate some income. I never had any success with that myself though.

Otherwise you are delegated to doing missions. Get a good combat mastery, preferably rifleman and pull solo missions. I used to do factional since that is easy money and avaiable at any planet. But to really strike rich you should do Jantas at dantooine.

BTW Yes it is true, I've tested it myself, poison only ticks once every TEN seconds!

To make money as CM, your best bet initial is to master an elite combat profession and join a solo group. For now just make your on meds.

Generating a customer base for CM is very hard to acheive. Though I have to admit for myself I do have a loyal customer base and make a decent profit.

If you're trying to master both the Doctor and Combat Medic trees then you're going to be in for quite a shock. Since you're kinda new I'll explain

1st: Unlike other games, once you're purchased some medium grade armor and a doctor buff it is going to be a rare thing to require any sort of healing unless you plan on tackling 6+ npc's and not have mastered an elite combat profession. Fact of the matter is that healing just isn't need except in a few special locations.

2nd. The Master Doctor/ Master Combat Medic is a great group support template. Unfortunately thanks to #1 groups are rare and hard to find. Unless you're going to high level content like the corvette or DWB or you have friends who are too cheap to get buffed then stimE's just aren't going to be needed.

3rd. Combat Medics are poor. You got two sources of available income with combat medic. One is to make poison/diseases/ranged stimsand sell them to other combat medics. The other is selling your Advanced Dispersal Mechanism to doctors so they can area cure CM poisons. Thanks to the rareness of resources I've realized over time that selling to other CM's is hurting you more than helping unless you manage to farm ALOTTT of each particular resource. I've been an MCM on sunrunner for a long time now and can atest to that. You just missed some liquid petro 2 that spawned for like 2-3 days. Last decent spawn was......January? Heck my radioactive 1 stuff is still only in the 700's OQ.

4th. Pick one medical profession or the other but definitely without a doubt pick up and MASTER an elite combat profession. Pistoleer is nice but without /eyeshot in PvP its crappy and that applies to higher level medium-heavy armored npc's you'll eventually run across. You can try dabbling in both or all three professions but the lower you are in any professionthen the less effective you are in a fight. As an MCM I have the advantage of range, effectiveness, and areaC's that dabblers cant match which will cost them the fight more often than not. Anyway, the main way to earn money in this game is doing missions. You need a strong mastered combat profession to do the 30k mokk/janta missions smoothly. Otherwise you'll be able to do them....just taking longer, not as smooth, and possibly a trip to the clone center.

Hehe, when I first took up this profession I thought I was going to be something like an Everquest cleric (had deleted my account the day before) but instead I'm like a necromancer. Who would have known?
