with a 120-ish venoms im hitting a 800-900 tick range- am i getting all the power out of a venom like that ? ( that's a single by the way)

I think that is above average for 120 Powered Venom. Make sure you are using the best resources possible.

given that an aia is like 55ish, you're adding 65 power to your psn w/ a 120 venom. figure the best non venomed single c will be around 340 effective (best I've sen anyway), so now you're at like 405ish effective - I'd say you're doing just fine.
