Combat Medic Archive

If you start out as a medic can you forage for organics and inorganics or is it a must to get artisan also and get survey tool? Does medic have some way of finding and harvesting the resources he needs without getting Novice Artisan? Anyone know?

Well you could buy resources off of an artisan. Besides that you have to take up artisan and do it yourself.

Yes, for Inorganics, you need to have Novice Artisan or buy them. For organics, you need Novice Scout or buy them. Seems to me that to be a self sufficient Medic, early in your career anyway, you need those skills.

Actually you can skip out on scout all together. Just use the flora survey tool along with the mineral survey tool.

i started as an artisin so i got the 3 survay tools, but you can buy them once you get in game. i have a friend gather my organics, but i have used my floral scouting tool to get my own organics.i use my mineral tool to get my inorganics, and craft all my packs. it takes more time, but it gets the job done until i make some atrisin friends.

I started as an artisan so I could get resources, but I plan to surrender out of artisen later in the game when more people can make harvesters and the likes, which will allow me to set up resource gathering without having to survey. But survey is great for getting resources in a pinch to make packs.

You dont need scout if you are artisan, in fact, the wheats, oats. grass make better resources for packs then the meat, hide and bones. You will make more effective packs with the flora type organics.
