Thread: How to effectively use non-LOS....
Ok i have gotten a ton of mails asking me how i can stay out of los and still get in range of targets without getting attacked...
1) Always go overt...this is a given...
2) Use tab to target it will target any attackable PCs or mobs..sometimes it takes a bit of cycling...
3) Learn the outlay of the town/city u are fighting in...especially the potential hot spots... cantina, star port shuttle port cloning facility med center...find bottlenecks...prevent urself from becoming trapped, always know where u are and have an out...
4) Use buildings as barriers. Putting a 50m long and 20m wide cantina between u and ur target = easy poison application and a long wayto run for them.
5)Fight inside buildings with lots of rooms and walls windy corridors...make it hard for them to getLOS even if inthe samebuilding with u.
6) Burstrun is ur friend....
7) Remember to beware of grped coverts. If u attack the overt in that grp the coverts will be allowed to attack make sure u are ready for this...if u think a guy is grped (usually obvious if there are bunch of non red pc dots on the radar around him) use a single mind poison on the overt followed by a AOE mind dot on the overt to get this grp.
8) Never stop moving...dont let the revenge tef kill you...
9) Always porting to a hostile city via the star port...this will give a little more time to get ur surrounding down. Shuttleports are usually busier and have no cover....
10) Use burst run...its ur best friend....
Call these tactics cheap and exploiting if you want, but if this is exploiting, then so is using any of ur special moves from ur profession...so is KDing so is panic shot.....
Remember fight on ur terms not theirs...if it looks bad dont attack and wait for a more opportune moment to strike...
You didn't just post this. This should be considered an exploit. Attacking targets that are not LOS has always been considered an exploit in most games. The same reason the in the EULA is against using this against mobs.
Why do you WANT CMs nerfed Eleonara? You get cheap points using exploits, then claim we are overpowered. Non-CMs are going to agree since you cheated to wipe out a party of them. Just because the game allowed you to do it, doesn't mean you didn't cheat.
STOP using LOS exploits and claiming we are overpowered. Now you just came on these boards and encouraged other CMs to use your LOS exploits? You should be banned. Can a moderator just remove you? I wish they would. I put you on ignore, but unfortunately, it doesn't affect your posts.
You should be ashamed of yourself for the damage you have done to this class.
there is not a single exploit mentioned in that post, it is a very valid tactic and if you read through it, it states how to use poisons with or without LoS because the only difference is wether or not you are in LoS on the apply or not, i.e. if the person gets a few shots at you until you hit cover or not.
uing non-LoS is not an exploit either. some people call it cheap, other people call it a valid tactic.
if i fight people who can kill me in<10 seconds at 50m range i would be dumb to get into line of sight.
playing intelligent is not exploiting bugs.
P.S.: Elly, using either the starport or the shuttle is a dumb idea for any assault. traveling overt is dumb as well.
Non-LOS is not an exploit. Its no worse then KD spam, Stance spam, and other crippling techniques. Just because you dont like it or think its cheap, doesnt mean its an exploit. KD spam is cheap but has anyone been banned for using it? No, using an exploit is a bannable offense. The TEF bug was an exploit, but that was fixed 2 days ago.
Ill add, If I heal someone through a wall with my ranged healing stims, is that an exlpoit too?

Lol its a dice roll most of the time...
i rarely use shuttles ports for raids...usually they have zero cover around them and are far mor popular for travel...i usually use starports and hopefully theres not a ton of rebs on the other side waiting...would be nice if there was mounts and PC vechicles so travel outside towns and between towns without shuttles/star port would be more viable...
but there was that one time i ported into moenia as the rebs were about to launch a huge raid on theed and waiting inside the star port for the shuttle...
oh that was fun...lol totally dead on load....it happens...but hey u die u die...
As for my tactics...lol i laugh at all those that class this an exploit...
basically I am using the weapons given a CM to their best advantage...so ill except im exploiting then rifleman exploit using max range to sniper...carbineers and pistoleers exploit when they AOE KD...BH exploit by using KD and eyeshot...
and and every single CM whos ever used a non-LOS ranged stim pack is now an exploiter...
- Throw AOE poisons at pets, then you won't be immediatly targeted by owner.
- If you know you have 10sec before enemy will be in LOS (for example they are behind the wall / in bank area) OR if you only fight 1-2 people - throw action poison first. This way you will keep their medic occupied AND you will acquire a lot of potential TEF targets who were trying to heal your pray.
- If you got a crowd fresh out of clone center chasing you - use 2-store building and elevator, stay on the first floor next to it, as soon as you attacked - take elevator up and throw AOE poison at them - that will buy you some time. Most of the med centers in big cities are 2 store.
- Buy a dozen mouse droids, send them (one at a time) on patrol around a bulding wall, hide on the other side - this way you can get a jump on people who saw the droid first and did not bother to click around for next target.
- Role-Play ! The funniest thing I saw yesterday (very effective too) was a fully dressed in ST guy walking around saying "Move along" and "Can I help you citizen?", then trowing an AOE poison in the crowd. "Ehh... that ST just poisoned me ?!?"
