Thread: Thinking of going CM.. plz help with some numbers :
Ok so if I get this right, I have to fill up both medic and marksmen starting professions.
Meaning 77 skill pts for medic + 77 skill pts for marksmen.
Then I can expect to shell out 64 skill points to get the Master CM title.
So that brings us to (77+77+64) 218 skill points to get to Master Combat Medic.
Is this correct or am I completely wrong here?
Thanks for helping out.
Also, Combat medic can't revive like a doctor.
REALLY!?!? WOW that's absolutely great news!
Thanx... now I get to find myself a secondary profession...
And, as a sidenote, if you choose to master Combat Medic, the only other classes you can master are the elite gun classes (Pistoleer, Carbineer, Rifleman) or Doctor. Though you can, of course, have plenty of non-master combinations.

I find it hard not to master a profession. I'm really not about a jack of all trades. I've been considering Rifle specialist, but I don't like the fact that both CM and riflesman both use mind. So I guess I'll go carbineer.
Any other ideas of nice combos along with Combat Medic?
It really depends what you want to do.
I'd say take Carbineer if you were to take a gun class. First off, it's not being like every single other person and using a pistol. And unlike a rifle, you'll be able to heal the HA cost from a Carbine rather easily, even with just Stim Cs. Also, you hit a pool that people tend to ignore more than Health, so you might get lucky finding a person who spams specials and expects that there aren't any carbineers around. Plus, you get some other specials that are just devastating.
Personally, I chose Doctor, with Carbine Specialist. It DOES mean that I'm almost exclusively a support character, but I can still fight somewhat, even though I prefer not to. I also get buffs, better experimentation for all my meds, great woundpaks if people DO die, and rez. Makes me useful in a non PvP capacity.
Also, one thing you NEED to realize before bothering with CM is that it's basically exclusively a PvP Class. Poisons are useless PvE, and don't get me started on Diseases. Ranged stims are totally unnecessary if you play a Doctor intelligently, and the only saving grace is either not needing Line of Sight to heal, or possibly Area Stims, though the latter also suffer from the same problem of being unnecessary if your group has combined intelligence greater than a watermelon.
Up to you, though. Pistoleer is also a deadly combination, even if pistols aren't going to be the end-all weapon for much longer. I'd say Rifleman isn't the best bet, because as you said, you can't heal the damage, and what's more, you'll have to be standing and mobile, even as a CM with ranged stims, and that just destroys a Rifleman's ability to work well.
My two cents.

Guess I'll go Combat Medic then since I PvP from time to time and groups I join tend to have a combined intelligence of a watermelon. Makes me hairs turn white to try to heal someone who's running all over the place to shake off a Tusken Sniper and then have him BS me about not healing him!
I appreciate your input. Made me realize a few things as well as reconsider others.
Anyone have any thoughts on a template like this?
Cm 4/4/0/4
Doc 0/4/4/0
Pistol 0/4/4/4 (or carbineer if they don't fix pistol specials soon)
