Combat Medic Archive
Thread: Not many relize it
Well I think a lot of them realise it andapreaciate it!
I even have people tip me after a huge battle, which I think is a little weird but, but I'll take it!
They know if it was not for us the group could not have survived!
I don't know how many times I have thrown a Area Stem with a new group and some BH/Commando says, "I lovehaveing a combat medic with us! Lets keep killing!" And the group usualy becomes fun!
Im just getting ready to start into the combat medic and doctor lines. I moved up through medic quickly due to putting myself in harms way at fort tusken with large parties. I loved healing and keeping people alive, dragging incapped bodies away from the fight so they wouldn't be db'd. Now with my approach to combat medic and doc. I'm getting ready for some fun nights of healing and bravery against all odds. I have had more compliments from parties that i have been with and have kept them going for a good 2 hours as long as thier mind doesn't get them killed.
Personal question: I was told that going CM alone was not a good choice and to pick up at least one tier or level of doc. I see the logic behind this but how many of you are in both fields?

yea i also have a lot of guilds come after me when im un guilded, had a lot of offers from the big guilds on gorath, aeon, arch (what im in right now) SR. i think combat medics are highly needed proffession, keeps people alive and drops people prety fast also
we define whether a group can hunt for hours or minutes on advanced planets.
I usually play a support class in MMORPG's, and it was no different when I became a Combat Medic in SWG.
I didn't pick up any Doctor, however, and instead was a Master Combat Medic/Master Pistoleer.
After some changes to the class, I decided I no longer wanted to be a Pistoleer and picked up some Doctor, for the same reason I think many people do. It's a cheap upper echelon proffession to get, when you're already a CM.
However, not long after becoming CM/Doctor/little bit Carbineer, I was killed in my first 1vs1 pvp encounter that didn't involve dieing to someone's pet after I incap'd or db'd them. (I'm talking actual pvp here, not duels, which aren't a true estimation of pvp skill, in my opinion)
Once that happened, I dropped a box at a time in Doctor while picking up CH skills. It costs more points, since it requires three different novice professions, but I'm pretty happy with it so far. I'm back to holding my own in pvp now. Worst that's happened to me is dieing to two eye shot spamming Pistoleer/BH's.
If you like the "Cleric" role, pick up the Doctor skills. The ability to buff, revive and heal poisons/diseases in pvp/pve is essential to a group winning a battle. The key word here is group though.
I'm lucky enough to be in a guild where a large percentage of the members are at least master medic, so I can afford to get the offensive skills.
master doc master cm is a very powerful class to play in pvp if you know your strengths and weaknesses inside and out.
Many class combinations are powerful, if you know what you're doing. But you must realize that you're not the only one out there who knows what they're doing.
The only way to beat someone that can attack your mind pool, or someone with a decent pet, is to have good offensive power or to avoid the confrontation.
All those buffs don't do you any good, if your mind pool is hit.
And sure, you can pop a few Muon's, which might help you take out one or two people, or might help you win in a duel.
Personally, I don't use spices, because I don't feel like waiting out the downers. And even food is situational, because if you pvp for long periods of time, it can be very expensive or rough on your friends'/guildmates' resources to continually have your mind buffed from food.
