Combat Medic Archive
Thread: Post #2. Money and medics are like oil and water
Until I became a master combat medic, money was the hardest comoditiy to get a hold of. I swear that I never palmed over 30k for the first 2 months that I played this game. Now it is easier as I can take one friend and his Sludge Panther out and do Endor missions for ever... I can heal real good.
But money is still an issue. Its an issue because I have maxed my skill points as a very effective CM/Pistoleer. That is, EXP is nothing to me. I am sitting on 80k medical exp with nowhere to put it. I could drop some skills to get more doc stuff... but it does me no good.
So, I had this idea the other night after I showed up on Endor to meet some friends. As soon as I walked into the science outpost, I got hit with like 4 /tells from people I didn't know who saw my "Master Combat Medic" tag and wanted me to join their groups. So I thought: "Why don't I just charge people for my services?" A group of 5 pays me 10k (in this scenario) and I get my cut of the mission money. In return I keep all alive, as only CM's with the ability to rez can. I thought about it for a while...
So, is it unethical or bad form to charge people for my services? I am a very good combat medic...
Im in a PA, and dont charge my friends for heals.
Instead I make money selling meds to other Docs/Medics/CMs.
It takes an significant investment to really get going, but i make more than enough money for what I need to buy.
people are wierd about giving actual cash, i usually get tipped in resources, or a full suit of composite,
(eheh, it pays to fully heal an master armoursmith whos at 1 in all stats at 4:00 am)
