Thread: AE limits... bugs using AE's on dead things!
Started combing my combat spam closely yesterday after several hours of pve and pvp fighting. I don't recall seeing this problem in your list of fixes, so maybe someone can enlighten me.
I know a bug exsists when you attempt to AE a group of 'living' (not dead!) mobs where it seems limited to stick to only 5 objects. Is this correct and by design?
In addition.. if any of the 5 targets resist, it will try to apply poison to another person instead.. so the combat spam reads
You poins wwww
You poison xxxx
You poison yyyy
You poison zzzz
Zzzzz reists...
You poison aaaa
This is conisitent with every single battle using AE's.. a resist in you cast will move to another player/npc. until it is resisted, or runs out of targets to apply to in the range BAH!
ON TOP OF THIS...
When it cycles thru the list of objects to poison, it will select dead npc's!
So 3 things:
- 5 'hit limit' on ae's, is this by design?
- cycling thru a list a targets after each resist, is this by design? don't think so
- and within the cycling, selects dead people? definately a bug
as far as an AoE sticking only to 5 targets, I can only confirm that this is false in PvE, I hit 40 in the sulfur pirate cave on Lok when the last patch to hit live was still only on TC. Also there was a screenshot (think it was Lexey sp?) of about 40 PvP'ers that got nailed with a AoE. It is possible that something was stealth patched into live that bypassed TC...maybe someone else can add some info
Poisons hitting the dead...you will have that, but the dead should always resist, that was a quick fix to the disease corpse bug. The devs might go back and do a more thorough fix on this in the future so that an AoE will skip a corpse. But for now...working as intended.
It seems inconsistent. Only just yesterday, I would have great success landing poison >5 in PVE... however, its hard convincing overt imps to stand in a group so i can 'test' stuff heheh
This problem seems to fall in line with Carbineer cone/ae problems. The ae's will often 'hit' but no damage is taken by the mob you have targeted.. then inadvertently, your ae begins to focus every hit on your current target, instead of doing 1 hit to all in the cone area.
This may be an artifact we are seeing in our ae affects as it may 'stop' selecting more than a certain number of targets because of an error occuring during the course of battle.
