Combat Medic Archive
Thread: Response to new issues list, need your input on this... bug?...feature?...
Can you guys think about this and answer what the bug is really related to. Not sure if it's even a bug, more like my personal pet peeve.
When you heal, it goes into the CQ(combat queue). It doesn't show, I assume it doesn't show because it's not supposed tobe part of the queue. The CQ timing is going off your currently equipped weapon(or unarmed skills, if no weapon) SOO, a person using a pistol has a faster combat queue which has a faster healing time(or chemical warfare time... I would assume). This totally doesn't make sense. If chemical warfare is a weapon(which it is) shouldn't it have some type of speed on it(which it does) and shouldn't that speed be the incorporated into the combat queue(which it isn't). I understand the difficulties of this, introducing a more difficult combat queue(multiple speeds in the queue), I don't know how it's coded so I'm not sure how difficult this would be.
This will come down to 2 things, should poisons/disease be part of the combat queue(I think yes), and should heals be part of the combat queue(I think no, and yes). The chemical warfare should be, just because it is a weapon in some sort. The healing, hmm... If it's not, then the best medic/combat balance would win everytime(timing doesn't come into it), if it is, then timing is an issue, when to use up a combat round to heal... should you wait till the last second to get the full effect....(like racing and taking a pit stop I guess...). This would also make the queue more difficult I would assume. Ranged heals have different healing speeds then normal heals(injury treatment speed vs ranged healing speed), this would add more complexity to the combat queue, possibly creating more problems for the development teams, but if you can have 2 timings you should be able to have 1000 timings, in the CQ.... in theory.
I would like to get input on this, and hopefully our correspondent would look at all the post and make a decision on what to go to the devs with(if that's how it works or whatever).
Thanks alot.
Ok that clears half my post up, what about the other half?
I notice that if I change my gun, I can heal faster(providing I can...uhm, heal fast enough to keep up with my gun speed). So now the question is, should there bea speed on the poison/disease and add 2 different speeds to the queue? This part is really confusing me. It shouldn't matter how fast my gun is when I get skills to speed up heals.
