Thread: Might not do any good, but here's a petition to get CM poison changed...

Basically, everyone I talk to about CM poison agrees it's completely overpowered and the AE mind poisons basically decide who wins in large scale PvP. As a Master TKA and a Doctor I think I have a pretty good idea about what's possible as far curing it. Teras Kasi Master allows me to meditate poison away (assuming I can disengage from combat long enough to do so). The problem with that is I am almost always incapped by the poison before meditation can clear it, this I can accept because meditation is not a skill meant to be used in the height of battle. Being a doctor, however, gives me a different perspective. If I'm in a group of 20 and someone lays down an AE mind poison of good strength my chances of curing everyone (including myself) before incap are slim to none. The difference in time between how fast a doctor can heal individuals of poison and how fast a CM can lay down poison affecting multiple targets makes it impossible for a doctor to heal all his charges before they're repoisoned again. The other factor is that by the time most of a group are healed of poison odds are that quite a few of them have no mind pool left which makes teams of Combat Medics and Eye-Shot spamming Bounty Hunters the de rigeur of PvP combat.

This may do no good, but maybe it will at least get the Devs attention. Here is what I'd suggest for CM poison modifcations:

- Make Combat Medic poisons subject to the same 75% reduction in Player Vs Player combat that every other proffession suffers in relation to damage.
- Make Combat Medic poisons unable to target the mind pool, the one unhealable pool in the game.

"Make Combat Medic poisons subject to the same 75% reduction in Player Vs Player combat that every other proffession suffers in relation to damage"

If you look at the patch notes, they supposedly removed the reduction already.....

Before you start this thread, you should try playing a Combat Medic. That way, you will have a betteridea on what is required to make and apply poisons, and of their effectiveness in PvE.

You know .... if it's not one thing, it's another.

Fine, nerf Mind Poison ... maybe even remove it. But if that happens, remove ALL mind damage OR make it healable.

Also, if you nerf Mind Poison, then you MUST nerf Stim B's effective use by NOVICE MEDICS. As a Master Combat Medic, on a AE Health/Action poison, I can currently get up to 420ish damage every tick (8 sec). A NOVICE MEDIC can OUT HEAL my damage rather easily.

Another point, if you are going to limit the Combat Medics poison, then no longer make us rely on Dr's/Dr Skillsto make our componates.

Over time (say 30 sec) all the elite weapon classes far outdamage the MCM.

I am open to discussing a solution, as are most Combat Medics, but their are other things far more borked up that our poisons.

I dueled a few BH's the last few days, it was funny as hell listening to them whine about me incapping them (used Health or Action poison only). The ones that I beat ONLY USED their Pistol skills. With Health Poisons they lasted a bit, with Action poisons they went down QUICK.All they did was spam either Eye Shot or Torso Shot .... silly noobs. The ones that BEAT me used all their tools ... Carbine for the KD's, Torso Shot for the damage & Fire, & LLC to TAKE ME OUT at 700+ damage (hardest hit was for 946).

The Pistol only BH's cried that Poison wasn't fair .... the Well Rounded BH's killed me as often as I killed them.

From my own personal view, I'd give up the Mind Poison IF Stim B's were far more restricted & I could make all my own componates .... then i could pick up SOME weapons skills to enhance my ability to deal damage rather than have to be Master Dr to make good Stim/Poison packs.

I like things the way they are...

I'd like to meet the CM that hit all 20 people in your group with one poison throw and shake his/her hand.... The most I can hit at one time is maybe 5.

Shame on your group for only having one doctor that can heal poison in a group of 20.....

Shame on you for being in combat if you are the only Doc in your group of 20 that can heal poison....

Please excuse me if this really happened, but I find it hard to believe it did. If it did happen, you may want to re-figure your group PvP tactics. Otherwise it is a hypothetical argument taken to an extreme case and those cases rarely hold any water.

I suspect that as an individual you got hit by a decent single shot mind poison maybe 400-500 damage every tick. AoE poisons do about half that damage...allowing you to cure yourself first, then tend to the others. Don't get me wrong, it sucks getting hit with a mind bleed, but chalk this one up as a learning experience and try to become a better PvPer than screaming nerf! Nerf! at the top of your lungs.

*EDIT*

"As a Master Combat Medic, on a AE Health/Action poison, I can currently get up to 420ish damage every tick (8 sec). A NOVICE MEDIC can OUT HEAL my damage rather easily."

What I ment to post was "on a SINGLE TARGET Health/Action poison, I can currently get up to 420ish damage ... " These are rated at211 Power I beleive

On my AE's, the BEST I have ever assembled will do 329 damage. They are rated at 150 Power.

These are the best I can make with the resources I have been able to gather on Lowca.

I disagree. Keep poisons the way they are.

Balance them with inocculations by doctors before the battle (these would raise a toon's poison/disease resists).

Balance them with ABC gear (anti-bio/chemical) made by armorsmiths. These wouldchange the resists of the toon wearing it.

Don't decrease the power of a class. Enhance the power of others to match it.

Poison is basicallyour only attack, disease is very slow and 9 out of 10, the person is DB'd before the first tick occurs. Even with posion, you still got time to kill people, normally after a CM will poison, the CM will die.

As for me, I am master doc and master CM, PvE is extremely hard to solo, if poison is reduced, the only good thing i can do with CM is ranged heal which isn't worth the points, i had no problems healing when i was master doc and master pistoleer, ranged helps but without poison we are worthless.

Area poison can be deadly, but as i said, this is the only thing we are good for. On a plus side, both imps and rebels can do it. So poison on both sides, so what it comes down to, the side with the most docs will win. You can save them all, but with both sides poisoned, the one that can save the most, will win.

I think poison forces people to be more creative on how they plan big raids, if a large number of imps or rebels decided, to raid and figure, bah we don't need a doctor cuz we'll out number them all, will probably find themself all dead after running into a CM.

Also what people don't understand is that area poison only effect an area, in my opinion, if a large team sticks close enough together whereI can poison you all in 1 round, well i think you deserve to die. But most people like to be the first to attack and DB so poor structured groups like this will get killed by poison.

My advice to everyone is to simply spread out when you do raids, form lines so that if posion is used, only the first line will get it, the first line will probably killed the CM so the 2nd and 3rd lines can finish things off.

Bad playing styles shouldn't be a reason to nerf and destroy a profession

75% reduction would give us on a top of the line single poison....hmmmm....15 DPS?

Talk about bloody worthless.

So no. I'm open to fixes to the mind situation, but nerf the poison and you might as well just take it away.

As I mentioned in the original poster's other thread of this today...there are potential spots to talk about here but teh 75% damage reduction isn't going to happen.

We can talk about duration reductions in PvP for all DOTs, we can talk about resist rates on AOEs when there's no LOS between original target and peple in the blast radius, but the tick rate isn't really the issue right now.

Well My questions to you are:

1. Why do you HAVe ot be able to constantly cure or heal all of your group members before 1 falls to incapp? If any master doc ccould do that then how would pvp every end? Wouldnt it jsut be people constantly fighting and being healed?

2. If mind poision is removed than should riflemen's mind bleed be removed? Isnt it unfair that a riflemen can stack 2 bleeds that do wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more damage than 1 poision? Think about it like this at best ,with near perfect resources(oq all 1k) a cm can do dps of 60, a riflemen can do atleast 150+dps.

3. If Cm gets 75% reduction in pvp( currently at a dps of 50, there dps would be 12, so you nmow you want a CM a combat class to have a dps of 12??? You realize that would be 100 damage a tick at 8 seconds to wait for it would take 2+minutes to kill someone ? Sorry but if a cm gets the 75% in pvp then they would have up poision damage by atleast 100%. Name 1 other combat class that does a dps of 50 and you want it reduced even more. that rich.

4. You realize that to make 1 poision it take 8-9 sub-components, and all those subcomponents are extremely rare spawns on the resouce shift. Sicne your a doc its like them saying you need dant berries bvut only this kind of berry, or you can only use avian meat from carrion spat babies and nothing else.

5. Isnt this a mute point due to the fact of dancers now being able to buff the mind pool by liek 1-2k.

bleeds are a lot worse than poisons. granted they cant cast it on 5 mutiple targets liek us but they do over 700 points of mind damage and even a master doc cant heal himself in time to make it go away.

all poisons are curable in one shot if its properly made. cure Bs usually do the trick in one shot also.

My wife is a master combat medic and master pistoleer, and I think that area mind poisons need to be toned down some in PVP. Sorry honey!!! Or others can be buffed against it. In PVE they are all but worthless I think. To those that think that the only thing CM has is area mind poisons might want to look at the profession name again. Combat MEDIC. You have some good area and range heals there, so stop dabbling.
I fear the day when they fix the medicine use on area mind diease, the ones she makes has a medicine use of like 700-900. First we'll get hit with disease then poison. Or better yet we will get poisoned, incapped and then disease. I've had that happen a few times.
Anyways!!!
