Thread: Concerning Poisons and diseases
Hi, first of all let me tell you some things about me.
My Name is Lilu (Kettemoor) and i am a Master Doc/CM and very fond of it.
Now, as i read all those complaints about poisons, their ridiculous damage and how poor all other classes are, i must state my opinion on some issues here.
First, The Mind Damage Thing: I think (mind) poisons are fine. BUT i would love to see docs curing the poison in area effects too. A doc is VERY poor if he tries to run around to cure his parties members of the poisons they often tend to oversee
And if a combat medic is really fanatic enough to create the best advanced poisons (single, with advanced componentes), then for christs sake, let him have the joy of ruling a single pvp encounter. I fought a (very good) CM once just to test how good my cures work (1100 mind, 1100 willpower). Well as he hit me, he ran away (of course, i would do the same) so i had time curing the poison. But i didnt manage it lol. First this gave me some headache thinking it was too powerful. On the other side i could have taken a look to my personal dancer to push my mind to 2200, so it was partially my own fault. Not to mention what it takes to create such formidable poisons (i know it!). So in general i think poisons are alright, but docs lack the proper curing tools.
Second: diseases. As i reached master CM, i tried to use a area disease and was disappointed when i saw it was broken. On the other side: If my party was hit by a AREA disease, this would have a devastating effect. And I dont want to be the DOC responsible for curing it. I also appreciate every CM who does not use diseases at all. Seems there is something like a code of honour. My regards to the rebels of kettemoor there
So i dont mind if the area diseases stay broken, i fear they might kill the "balance" the developers already have achievedin this game.
Third: Pvp in general: I dont know why, but since the last patch, PvP is very, very funny. I kill BH's, BH's kill me, our commando heats up some Ch, the CH's creatures kill our bounty hunter, our riflemen let the BH bleed, my poison is cured, i got poisoned, and whilecuring poison on my own our command slowly fades away. And after 10 Minutes of fun, the intruding party lies dead on the floor (i have only seen it this way
.
You can say what you want, but THIS is fun and i dont care if i have to search some water because my hair catched fire ![]()
And if you are tired of the BH' shooting you down with eye shot, then get a composit helmet with special acid and lightning protection, get a shield generator and try it again.... You will know the difference ![]()
regards Lilu (Multipass). Have some fun, its a game afterall..
As long as Dev's understand CM's are fine, im fine. Id estimate 95% of the complaints at CM's are about mind damage not poison in general and the other 5% are just morons who got beat in PvsP.
As for disease, its not a fight winning tool, its a preventive tool. For example, when I see players setting up for a raid, if AOE disease worked I could hit that group and slow them down for bit, gaining time to prepare for the raid. There have often been times I wished AOE disease worked. Like the time I was on my way to my base, came out of the loading screen and started to move. 1 second later overt rebels come zoning into the shuttle, clearly on the way to my base, had AOE disease worked I would of hit them and ran, greatly slowing them down so I could get more help. So disease has a purpose, it takes people out of a fight for a while.
Yes i agree. As a preventive tool they yould be great.
But imagine all the whining...

I have to dissagree... Diseases are worthless in any way you look at them. They take too long to tick, do too little wounding, and all you have to do is Duel a buddy and get a friendly DB from him to get rid of it. The DEV's REALLY need to impliment a timer which makes it impossible to start or accept a duel for a good 5 minutes after participating in combat. This would prevent this "exploit" (unintended usage of dueling) from happening, making disease and poisons pointless.
With the changes on TC causing Item decay on incap and death this may help to slow down the friendly DB due to the cost of insurance and the damage done to armor and weapons. Also with our poisons not causing an Incap (still guessing right now for PvP) A disease would help to reduce the amount of damage the opposing CM's and doctors can heal. And with the new ability to heal mind damage, a good mind disease would limit the abilities of the opposing healer. Still...a little more is needed, but I am thinking that PvP is going to change somewhat.
