Thread: So how does CM do in PvE?

Well I made the decision yesterday to drop master doc and complete my PvP template of Master Rifleman/Master CM....Well, I'm about to Master CM (yes, i knew what i was doing) without having used, or even had a poison/disease pack in my inventory...so it will be a surprise once I master.

My question is...how good is CM in PvE? I know its awsome for PvP...the reason I'm going for it. But say a poison does 800 dmg a tick...at every 10 seconds, thats nothing fora NPC or creature! Considering other professions do 3k hits every second...I've never seen a CM in PvE, so that is why I'm asking, so I'm prepared before I go into my first PvE battle as Master CM. Thanks for the help!

Shrug depends on what you are fighting and what your secondary profession is. I've soloed up to 8 rancors at once using a combo of stacked AE health poisons, warcry, center of being and occasional spin attacks.

Since poisons work slow and no longer incap, the determining factors are what defenses and offense capability your second profession will provide. In my case, poisons do the majority of the damage, but my secondary profession allows me to survive until the poisons do the damage I need them to do.

I've soloed a rancor using poison and disease stacking and kiting w/ a laser rifle. You get rancor bile to boot. I think you have to accept that CM really only makes a nice secondary attack in PVE, and it's not worthwasting your voodooon little critters. But it helps you easily solo big HAM slow or non-agressivemobs, especially fambaas and torturs. This type of play might only be appealing if you can afford the scout pts for harvesting. I'm not brave enough yet to area bomb a group of rancors. I guess you'd have to be pretty fast or have brawler-type defenses.

Combat Medics are among the best (if not the best) in PvE. I soloed the entire force crystal hunter cave by myself before it respawned. Poison goes through all armor and it has the best range.

I solo'd the Nightsister Labor camp. With some decent armor to absorb the melee damage you do take, Master Combat Medic/Master Rifleman has no trouble taking on anything under 100K ham by himself.

That depends on whether or not Poison tics will break a warcry. If they don't then I will keep on AEing but instead of using a spin ill use single target melee attacks.
