I was just thinking how some of the rare loot drops have DoT additions to the weapon itself, all things considered it wouldn't hurt to allow artisans to craft weapon power-ups that can be applied to a weapon to add poison or disease status effects. Naturally to be fair to combat medics they'd need to buy a component from you guys which determined the power of the poison/disease itself. I know you guys tend to struggle a bit for cash using CM skills alone so maybe this would be a nice money spinner for you guys considering how much power-ups are used. I know the melee professions would kill for a DoT to be added to their weapons since they don't have the luxery of bleeds which ranged professions have.

It's been mentioned here and there in the past, and it really is a reasonable way to add some dependency of other professions upon ours.
I wouldn't be averse to it, truth be told.

I would certainly be all for it.
The DOTs would have to be toned down from the stuff we use (why become a CM otherwise?), but still acceptably powerfull. Crafting them would require some component of ours and we would at last get some love from the other professions.

That and resistance buffs provided by us poisoning experts could be the foundation for a viable echonomy.

Well the chefs already provide multiple ways to protect against poisons, bleeds and disease not to mention foods toshorten the duration that they last. On the whole I think that CMs just need something equivilent to a blaster specific to your profession. It's unfair to force you to spend even more points for the sake of needing to cause that last 1 point of damage. On the whole when I considered giving CM a try it just looked far too costly for what it does, especially now that DoTs dont stack.
