The 14 extra points give you a good "enhanceable" single target heal and a greatsingle target heal along with a single target heal over time. The heal over time has a multi-role as a low cost high capacity heal and as a damage mitigator.

CM alone saves you the points and gives you a good single target heal, an "enhanceable" single target ranged heal, and a lower powered group area heal.

For keeping yourself and maybe a partner healed then doctor is your best bet. For keeping a group healed or to give you some decent healing while having extra points to play with then CM is your best bet.

You first have to figure out what your role is going to while fighting. Only then should you decide which path you want to take.

Well my primary concern is myself as far as healing. Any other people or friends are secondary because I am thinking about when I am doing bounties or alone aswell as when I am in a small group in caves and what not.

Also when I was looking for the differences I was looking for some solid numbers if you have any? Like which proffession has more of an advantage for me as far as healing myself at 4/0/0/0.....CM or Doc.

Ok I have a tough decision here and I am hoping you guys can help me out with this. After CU came out and from what I heard of the recent Healing changes I have decided I really need some healing ability with my combat abilities. The question is, do I go Doctor 4/0/0/0 or Combat Medic 4/0/0/0. If I go Combat Medic I save myself 14 skill points at the Medic level that can be used to help me Master Carbineer. So I am leaning towards Combat Medic. I just want to know if at 4/0/0/0 the Combat Medic is healing just as much as the Doctor at 4/0/0/0. Whats the dif between these two proffessions at those levels? All input will be helpful, thnx=)

If your planning on a long battle then CM is a better choice, but if your looking for a quick decisive victory then Doc would be the way to go.

xxx4 CM allows for greater survivability by ultimately reducing your opponents DPS and movement speeds.

xxx4 Doc gives you greater dps with the speed/action buffs.

If you like a quick first strike for the takedown then the doc line would be better, but if you like the long drawn out head to head battles then CM will be more beneficial. Ultimately healing on both is pretty close, though you have to also keep in mind that all those debuffs on the CM side take away your mind and is ultimately what usually kills you asa CM.

With 4-0-0-0 CM you can single heal in the 1200s and area heal for around 1000

So sad to see this go out the window. Guess it's back to WOW for me.
