Pistol for sure. Carb is OK, but I personally prefer the pistol, and i believe that gives you an advantage if you decide to use the Alliance Disruptor pistol.

I also believe the specials are different in that the Carb special is a cone (16m?) and the Pistol special is single mob.
Someone please check that for me

The pistol line gives you a ranged root which is priceless vs. various templates with lesser range than you or for escaping when your paralyze runs out.

well up until recently i would have gone carbines 0400 all the way ....
the reason was because cripple shot the carbines snare .. STACKED on top of the CM's snare electrolyte drain ... and was very effective ....
with pub 21 or pub 22 ... they removed that ...
i would say forget pistols ( unless you have access to an uber damage one in which case 0004 would be great)
and forget carbines ....
do a line in rifles

My weapons have determined my course of action. My best ranged weapon used to be my laser rifle (400 base dps/90 action cost). I enjoyed the range and other little perks of the rifleman. I then found a nice carbine(430base/84sac) + the nyms theme reward, and changed to carbines. Now ive found a nice pistol (452base/82sac) and may change soon, but want a little more time with my carbines.
I enjoy guns and like what all 3 have to offer, but when combined with mcm, i think the rifle is out. Your medic skills are uselesswhen you are 65m from target and possibly your group. Another issue with rifles is that you may very well dish out a big hit that will cause you to draw aggro instead of your groups tank. Carbines middle of the road and still have a decent range when compared to pistols, and that right now, is enough for me to stick with them.(Although that uber pistol sitting in my inventory makes my palm itch a bit.)

carbines 0400 all the way. one awesome dmg multiplier and the best ranged snare plus all of the general ranged accy. a lot of bang for the buck.

I swapped from master pistols to master carbs, I enjoy the range a bit better now, and a few good attacks to boot

I switched from Pistol 0004 to Carb 0400 because my weapon of choice is the proton carbine. Feel like I'm dealing a little bit more damage now too.

The big question here is what other profession does this guy have. MCM and one line of a range profession leaves ALOT of free points to play with.

my guess would be he has bounty hunter. the points would work out almost perfect.

I'm currently MBH, MCarb, CM 4000 and I want to change to MBH, MCM but couldn't decide between Carb 0400 or Pistol 0004. I love my carbs way too much plus the damage and medium range it has. I think i'll do MBH, MCM, Carb 0400, although the fact that Imp crippling shot doesn't stack with ED anymore kinda bugs me.
