I was thinking of doing the same thing when I heard about the snares not stacking, but other feedback from MCM/MBH's has been mixed on the effectiveness of the pistoleer root. I was leaning toward 0400 carbs and decided to go that way when I read a few posts from former 0004 pistoleers who said the root didn't land often enough to rely on.... they went to 0400 carb instead.The accuracy bonuses gained from 0400 carb will give you a better chance to land damaging specials on jedi and high level mobs, and you'll have a version of root with Paralyze anyway for when things get hairy. Also, imp leg shot is a nice special to combo with Adv. Crit shot when you're finishing off a wounded jedi.

As far as MCM vs. high-level mobs, i think its great. You will have to find out what debuffs work best against each particular mob. When you get outnumbered, you can use paralyze to freeze a few mobs while you kill one at a time.
