Thread: Master Combat Medic Creature Handler 4,4,0,0 ? Would this work?
It would mean no pistol skills, My thinking is the creature would be my guardain in group fighting and my weapon.
What do you all think?
I am looking at both PVE and PVP
Actualy i was thinking of that same spec. Since basicly CM's are more effective holding no weapon at all.(in large combat situations) with good Composit armor i can stand 2x longer without holding any type of weapon and just relying on my poisions...
However, for PvE i dont think this would be a wise idea since non of our damage would actualy return any xp, save for CH xp. And forget faction missions as well without any direct damage you will not be getting any faction points.
not so, he'd get lair faction points from sicking his pets on them and a minor return on the mobs themselves. as long as you dont care about being like a general in a faction, this sounds like a really good template actually... pets are fantastic tanks, and as a CM he doesnt need toworry about keeping tons of them in his datapad to cycle thrrough them... he can just use an AOE. and hell, as soon as poisons are fixed to allow kills with them to yeild faction, he'll be all set. i'd go for it. sounds like a good template to me
I am a MCM with CH (2-2-0-0) and I have a blast in PvE and having funwhile still learning PvP. I have Carbine Expert and not much else.
That MCM and CH combo is expensive on the points so no Doc for crafting, cures and buffs but all in all I like bring my tank to a fight or group rather then hoping a meat shield will be there for me when needed. I personally do not need a rancor or someother huge critter. I have found that with my 30th lv merek I can solo any missions on Dantooine and over half on Endor (hate those mind diseasing critters on endor). In groups I find it easer to let my group mates run around and have fun without watching over me. Having a 8.5k tankaround is enough to hold of just bout anything out there hungry for a medic (still loving suppresion fire and telling pet to attack). Pets are fun, pets are useful but have never really seen a reason for using any pet out there with a CL greater then 31(well lessyou plan on solo'n a dark jedi, a dragon or what not).
I use a carbine for higher dmg output thena pistol, using FullAutoSingle1 I still push out a little over1k with my laser carb at only expertcarb.
IMO it is better to get CH 1-1-0-0 or 2-2-0-0 for a CH/CMC combo then it is to go any higher in the CH tree.
Is it better to you get your Master CM first and the CH or the other way around?
Thank you!
thats how i wanted my set up to be mcm and 4-4-0-0 for ch. however it leaves with survey skills which could be a problem.
teehee... i am a MCM with 4-4-0-0 CH ![]()
i went that way when i realized that pointing a gun at anything resulted in huge delays before a stim could be thrown and people kept dying on me (sadly the problem persists to a certain extent as you will automatically enter combat mode once you get shot at). so now i use graul maulers for pve and meriks for pvp as a kind of fire-and-forget missiles while concentrating on keeping the group alive and the odd poisoning. not exactly exciting but it works better than when i was still skilling up the master pistoleer tree and trying to do some damage myself. i can still solo missions on endor or dathomir when i'm short on cash, just takes forever. the only problem i see right now is that there hardly is any good way to obtain FP with pistol skill 1 (body shot 1
) missions, also you can't use your pet while doing these missions as they "eat up" FP.

When anyone can get 2 combat-level 15 pets, why take CH?
If you take some doctor, you can buy Enhance-D packs and turn that little rock-beetle into a real tank.
As a CM, you can keep your little rock-beetle alive a long long time.
38 Marksman (0304), 77 Medic (Master), 48 Scout (4042)
63 Combat Medic (Master), 24 Creature Handler (2200)
That's a CL35 pet, just buy one from a CH that knows Transfer, and then you can get any commands you need trained. Or if you really want to get raunchy with the pets and keep most of Combat Medic:
38 Marksman (0304), 77 Medic (Master), 45 Scout (4041)
48 Combat Medic (4044), 42 Creature Handler (3411)
This gives you Range 4, Crafting 4, and Support 4 (If you buy your meds then change Crafting to Speed), plus ability to tame & use a CL45 pet (gnarled rancor) and teach it Trick1 & Group yourself.
In CH, getting 4/4/0/0 is pointless. That's max pet of 50, max total levels of 45. You can't control anymore with 4/4/0/0 than with 3/4/0/0. You need 4/4/4/0 or 4/4/0/4 to use a CL50 pet.
As a matter of fact, I'm curious what level of Combat Medicine Use is needed for each stim, but I'll save that for another thread.
