Thread: Potential Component?Crafting Fix Idea

Here is my idea to fix the extensive resources needed to be a good CM. Simply place our poison components (Infection Amp [IA], Dispersal Mech [DM], and Resiliance Comp [RC]) plus one additional "new" component, which I will call it a "Biological Amplifier" [BA], into the Combat Medic Crafting tree.

After this change, the schematics for Combat Medic heals would have to be changed to use, say, DM/RC/BA instead of the current 3 components. Poisons and diseases would remain the same (of course the Solid Delivery Shells don't matter - we're not wound healers).

This would create a simplified crafting process for CMs, similar to that of a Doctor. However, this would introduce one minor problem which needs to be addressed anyway - lower quality final combines are worthless (Ranged A, Single Poison A, etc) and would be even worse with these proposed changes. In order to fix this, the "quality" of the lower products could be increased slightly so that this new system produces the same results as the current system for a CM with only the novice skill. Under this system it would potentially be possible for one to gain just the crafting line of CM and make really good Ranged As or Ranged Bs (considering CM experimentation is used on them, and assuming the suggested increase is applied).

This solution reconciles 2 problems with CMs: 1) the harsh crafting requirements and 2) the non-viability of anything other than Master CM.

Let me know what you think. I would like to get a thread going about suggestions for fixes as opposed to the normal threads listing existing problems (not knocking you Zarlor, love what you do - it's just not within your "job scope" to suggest fixes, meerly to point out flaws).

That's all for tonite - time for bed.

Just make CM-used components capable of being experimented on using our points. The stuff involvedis hard to find and it'sdifficultto trust someone else to do it for us without any real understanding of how it works.

I just had a doc buddy use the rare components I gave him to make regular componentsinstead of advanced. HEH. If I didn't like him, I'd have killed him. *grmbl*
